2018 is the new era for bitcoin?

Not sure on basis of what some keep suggesting btc prices of 50-100k next year. I'm pretty new to this, but can't see any reason for a dramatic increase in btc price, except for the hype now about all this crypto currency ( which for general public is just bitcoin and nothing else ).

Don't get me wrong i'm not an sceptic ....not anymore, just want to know if there is more behind this reasoning . The 100k is being repeated everywhere.

When i heard about bitcoin at the beginning, i wanted to buy some bitcoins, not because i thought i could make money with it, just because of the idea behind i with which i sympathised lol. Unfortunately i was too lazy to make the effort to actually do it and forgot about it for years...
 so sure it may rise to 100k or much more. Who on earth thought it would nearly reach 20000$ ? I for one, would have called you a retard if you said that to me a Few years ago!!!

I agree maybe 2018 will be the new era for bitcoin. Because of fast and higher price hope bitcoin will still going up by 2018. I'm really excited for incoming 2018 if bitcoin will going to raise up again then surpass the other crypto currency. And hope 2018 will be the best year for me.

Panic traders always end up being loser. But for me bitcoin in 2018 will rise up to 50k usd as what you have seen on what happen on this year. But I will require you to buy more ethereum.

Hopefully will.There are certain ups and downs and a recent down as well.But it will eventually increase again as the time passes.As the awareness about bitcoin is higher now among people i think in this year it will increase greatly as more people involve in it

i see the chart is going up now, maybe for a short term and go back down, but do you think the new fresh money which can be reinvested from the beggining of Jan ( especially the chinese funds, as the banks release the holden stocks of private investors and companys  ) will keep the price maybe back to 20k or even higher?

btw iam a long term holder ( 3+ years ) and iam not panic selling at all, i just wait for the right moment.

in my opinion, people now searching a new way of investment and they found that bitcoin could be their option for their investment so from now on, there will be many people buy bitcoin and this will make the bitcoin price increase. besides that, I guess many people still holding their bitcoin until now and they don't want to sell the biggest amount of bitcoin they have if they don't see the higher price. so it will be good if you can hold your bitcoin for a while and sell it when the price increase.

So many factors contributed to the down fall in the price of bitcoin in the few past days, the price was going high in the last two week and it start going down to as low as $12000. This is due to the rush by holders of bitcoin to sell they bitcoin in other to celebrate this season and again there was over congestion in the blockchains network leading to so many unconfirmed transactions.
Couple with the move by some bank to Holt the activities of bitcoin in some countries like the Philippine and in the UK.

2017 was the year in which most people learned about bitcoin and started working with it...I think that 2018 will go further - this year bitcoin will receive even more recognition and new honors

2017 probably is the best year for bitcoin they have reach a very high price and there's a lot of competition on different bitcoin fork not to mention other algos like ethereum but they still manage to be still on top I don't know what 2018 will bring but I guess a more profitable year for bitcoin holders.

The simple reason is the value that is giving to the users as compared to that of traditional currencies. Now, unlike traditional currencies, there are no borders, barriers or controllers to manipulate the process and hence more and more force will be joining in next 5 to 10 years. On the other hand, supply is going to shrink in the market and that would result in an increase in the price per unit.

We have experts prediction about bitcoin price. It has been reported that Bitcoin Price may reach up to $30k to $50k in the forthcoming year. So I think the year 2018 will be the new legitimate era for Bitcoin

i'm expecting a weird year for BTC in 2018, roller coasting even more than the last couple of months with the mass adoption we will see things becoming huge.
My advice is to fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride, because the BTC airlines can take us everywhere (up and or down of course).

bitcoin is not just a short-term but long-term investment as well. for the future bitcoin will go up as well.

It'll continue to grow, but just be aware that this is an adult game with big players.  You can expect more whippings like the one over the past few days in the future.   And once the players can't shake off the fleas by taking the market down 190 Billion, they'll take it down 230 billion, 300 billion, etc... they'll let the market linger in the swamps for longer days, weeks, and maybe even months before they move the market back the other way.  You need to be cash ready to play this game, no different than any stock market.

Yes, I think in 2018 another new era of Bitcoin will start. Bitcoin will be much improved in 2016. Bitcoin will also increase prices in the future. Bitcoin can be very beneficial for long periods of time. So I like Bitcoin long term.
