What happened the the GPU miner for xpm by mltrt? It looks like the thread was deleted. Did it turn out to be a scam/no product?

Closed and created anew: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=273637.0
And closed again due to whiners.  I'm sure he is still working on it, he's just not dealing with the drama on here.

There is a native linux build for jhprimeminer that does not require wine. (complied on opensuse) ..I saw it in the jhprimeminer thread somewhere. You can add that.

Thanks for your updates on the thread and keeping the information relevant.

When will there be another pool to mine at for competition?

Good question - making mining pools not easy for primecoin as other alt-coin clones.

I have to say, this miner seems to perform better than v7.1 even without the avx

Have you tweaked anything yet or still running on default settings?

Well I use the  "-tune true" parameter for auto-tuning and then a press "C" after the first 20 minutes to also auto-optimize the L1 cache size.  Beyond that, I do not make any other changes

Common VPS Miners compatible with primecoin:
Server4you: http://www.server4you.com/  <---currently best price/performance I have found
Amazon EC 2: http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/
Digital Ocean: https://www.digitalocean.com/
Linode: https://www.linode.com/
Ramnode: http://www.ramnode.com/
Warrior VPS: https://www.warriorvps.com/
Hetzner Online Server Auction: https://robot.your-server.de/order/market (not a VPS but useful way to buy server power cheap)

Nice thread !

But regarding ramnode it should be edited. Here is what they replied to me when I asked them a while ago what was their attitude regarding primecoin mining :

Hi *****,

Please refer to our acceptable usage policy -- https://clientarea.ramnode.com/aup.php

Regards,

Elliot S.
Skype: RamNode
Twitter: @RamNode

the TOS is clear :

"HARDWARE RESOURCE USAGE

Client agrees not to run any processes on his or her VPS which create a CPU load above .9 on the VPS for an extended period of time or which cause a high CPU load on the host node for an extended period of time. In other words, client agrees not to use the equivalent of a full core for him or herself for an extended period of time."

Mining there will get your account suspended...

Thanks will remove it.  I have a feeling all the VPS might eventually suspend you unless you get a dedicated server since it "steals" resources from other users on the same server.
