0.2 btc seems to be affordable. Dev you can take this chance to get EDC listed on stocks.exchange while btc price is still low.

I am still mining this coin, the name is great, the project look very serious and the Op responding at our questions.

How is your currency conceptually different from USDT?

USDT is a pegged cryptocurrency; that is, the tether's value is pegged directly to that of the U.S. dollar. The usdt price should be around 1$ and it's tether's asset, you cannot mine it.
EDC, like many other cryptocurrencies, belongs to community. It's minable and price may vary (0.0001$ or 1000$ ... ?)
