Most probably yes. When you check the prices out, you'll see that prople are selling some to get some christmas gifts and meet their christmas spendings. That's the reason for me.

I can't believe that this is true, it would have to be a lot of people doing the same to cause such a crash. I guess it could have triggered the crash and then weak hands who feared a crash was coming contributed more so to the downfall. This might be one of the reason but that's not for sure. But i read an article on businessinsider.com earlier last week that bitcoin's price started to plunge after one of the founders of bitcoin.com announced that he would sell his stake in bitcoin. No one can tell though that it's the real reason why bitcoin's price drops to over 40% during Christmas season.

I'm not sure, but I believe that Christmas and holiday festivities greatly influence the decline in Bitcoin prices. This is influenced by the increasing financial need of people to celebrate Christmas and holidays, so that Bitcoin users sell their Bitcoin, and because of the large amount of Bitcoin stock on the market that causes the price of Bitcoin to drop.

To me that seems unlikely, the amount of people and the amount of money needed to withdraw from the markets in order to push the price down as much as we saw will be too much, unless people were buying mansions and lambos I do not think that was the case, what we saw was just price movements that come from speculation and whales manipulating the price.

I certainly thought this was the reasoning for some of the drop we experienced going from 19k to 13k in a weeks time. Probably wasn't the only reason of course but seemed like a legitimate reason nonetheless. And since then BTC is rebounding quite well I expect it to re-test ATH prior to year being up or in January of next year.

I disagree with your statement and a lot of people here who thinks that the drop was caused because people withdrew to spend it for the holidays. This is not something that would have brought the price down as that is worth hundreds of millions of dollars in terms of the market cap of bitcoins.

The reason is plain and simple, the prices went down due to the correction of the price. Bitcoins rose up quite fast and as a result it could not have supported itself up there when people started selling their bitcoins. There were not enough buyers to sustain the price when there were so much people that were already selling. The holidays probably affected because a lot of people were not trading and hence there were less buyers at the time.

It's hard to accept or deny it. As we see price was getting high these weeks, a lot of new holders in hope of getting profit, we all know that we need money for christmas and a lot of too.. So maybe this can be a reason but there is also another task: People want to get so much from bitcoin, they wouldn't care about putting bitcoin money for christmas. Can't remember last year's situation, really worths to think about it and consider in future tradings.

Maybe thats the reason. Becuase last year, when hiliday season bitcoin will dropped down, the same happen thid year. But i think bitcoin will recover again, thats the things bitcoin will grow up the same last year.
