Yes, Most of the people will more likely to buy gifts, buy foods, etc. because we traditionally do this every christmas and new year and in result people in the cryptocurrency industry will going to withdraw some of their cryptos to exchange in fiat to buy these things because we all know that cryptocurrency is not accepted worldwide and didn't consider as a mode of payment by the shop owners and other companies
and in result the is the drop of the price of the bitcoin and the altcoins as well.

I think that there is nothing to do with Christmas and holidays. The price of bitcoin came up, and then it went down. So it was always. Bitcoin is not stable, everyone knows this.

This was a point I tried making when I was talking to some of my friends about Bitcoin. People need some extra cash for the holidays, no matter if it is traveling, gifts, food etc. They withdrew a big chunk of their Bitcoins if you ask me, that caused the drop and now it's slowly regenerating and it can only go up from here.

If you consider that probably 80% of the users are inspired to use bitcoin as an investment option or to make money, I am pretty sure that Xmas and holiday season caused the drop. The online gambling activity surely increased during this time, but was not enough to compensate the whole of the investors.

Whatever the cause was for the drop I took the oppertunity to top up on some bitcoin. Nice to see it's starting to creep back up now people have recovered from their New Year's hangovers. Hopeing that the rise will continue over 2018. Happy New Year everyone  |

It makes sense since people are cashing out some of their bitcoins to buy foods, Christmas presents and many more in preparation for these global events. Not only bitcoins but majority of alt coins as well with the very same reason, IMO. It is also evident that after those holidays, pumping of cryptos also takes place.

yes, i do believe that these holiday seasons are the cause of bitcoin price drop, some of us (bitcoin holders) are make it as a gift for ourselves and spend it for their own reason, like me i spend my bitcoin just to celebrate christmas with my family as a gift to me and for them, and i think these upcoming new year i will spend my bitcoin too just to celebrate new year.
This fall was more than blessing for us because we were expecting more rise in prices and then prices fall and all the investors came into action and bought bitcoin in good amount and I think prices are now again rising and it are already gone to 16k and those who were unaware of fall they still have chance to buy bitcoin because still it is affordable value to get in and many investors were worrying but they are ow satisfied. |

I think the Christmas season caused a drop in bitcoin price rather, it got so high that naturally it had to shield off as retracement.
The price is expected to go high again because of the multiple transaction of buying.

We saw a huge increase in the price, early in the season and this might have triggered a situation where people rewarded themselves with some "Gifts" for the holiday season.
The direct impact of that would have been a higher influx of coins onto the exchanges and if that was not met with a higher demand for coins, then it would explain the drop in the price.
Did you splash out with some expensive gifts and extravagant holidays with your bitcoins, during the holiday season?
I think the holidays had a big impact on the price drop of bitcoin. People have been selling their coins to buy gifts. My friends did the same i myself got my family gifts from what i sold. I know bitcoin will recover after the holidays. More and more people will buy bitcoins and then the price will again go back up |

I have no idea on this thing and what's with the bitfinex issue you are talking about? I'm not updated with these things but when it comes to seasons that are in need for a lot of cash for people to celebrate then it will push majority of the people to sell their bitcoins and will make the demand lower as the supply is starting to rise again. |

The process of getting money into and out of bitcoin is too difficult for something in the real world in real time like a holiday to effect it. Bitcoin is completely disconnected with the rest of the world. It dropped exactly as expected after both futures markets opened because thats what the pump was about. Later on I observed long periods of lag and jagged low volume on bitfinex that went on and off - and bitfinex was as much as $1500 below other exchanges.

Most probably yes, it is due to the need for money to celebrate the big celebration. People sell bitcoins in preparations for the upcoming holiday, that is why it drop to a significant fiqure but literaly now it started to move up as seen in the monitoring of bitcoin price. |

The holiday season definitely caused a drop in price of all coins. I believe this is due to people cashing out to buy gifts and other material stuff including holidays. As for myself, I didn't cash out anything but merely bought the dips.

No, I thinks Xmas and holiday season is not the time price drop it more increasing Because of highly demand of supply, it's the time that almost all of the people entire the world are buying groceries for their noche buenas |
