Question: Would you use software that balances your portfolio?
Absolutely, id use this all the time.
I would use this for the automated features.
I will use it for notifications and ill trade myself.
I don't use anything to do this and I don't want to.
I use something else to do the same thing.

I've noticed recently, even as a holder, big price swings are changing my portfolio percentages frequently. I like to keep a substantial portion in the bigger cap coins with smaller percentages dedicated to more risky tokens.

Since its been tedious to manually re-balance my ~20 coins every couple weeks, Ive decided to write some software to automate the process. Basically track and auto trade ratios back or notify the user when your diversification changes from desired parameters.

Just probing for interest and suggestions, as i'd like to share it with the public when finished.

That is neat you have an excel spreadsheet that does this for you? I rarely track my coins and that is because I was down in BTC for the longest time which had me feeling like crap. Now that I am up I am tracking more often but still like you said you need to re-balance a lot and that is annoying. If you could share your method that would be great, would love to learn from the best Smiley.

i have never thought about using something like this before but the idea is starting to grow on me. things i would be concerned about this software like this is the possible theft of my coins though. How could you guarantee the safety of someones portfolio if they were to use your software?

Dont think so as i doubt that any app can follow my logic or the fact if you are holding alt you need to watch it in $/btc/alt ratio and no app can get it right. For example i have some coins where i watch only $ value as i sell them straight for it like zec or eth and i dont care about btc ratio. On the other hand there are some small cap coins like smart cash that are good for collecting btc but not $

So, i was feeling curious about what was the formula will be used in your software? i meant because to get a better portion of our portfolios and then we must try to look at the various aspects of the altcoin itself.
It looks so difficult but i'd liked to be the early user of your software.

It's just like blockfolio.

I will never allow any software to access my portfolio. Huge security breach.

When prices fluctuate wildly, you will learn to sell properly, and in time to change to legal COINS. Remember, you are hoping to profit from altcoin, which is the ultimate goal.

Such software would be fantastic.
BUT if too many ppl will use it then the market will result with even bigger swings as everyone automatically rebalance huge amounts of tokens
in auto mode.

Also I wonder if these lowtech exchangers we have right now are able to handle such loads.

There are some reason why you might want to rebalance, but doing it too frequently amounts to selling your good ideas and investing more in your bad ideas. I prefer to treat each coin as an individual investment and make buying and selling decisions on the fundamentals.

I am having the same experience, with Blockfolio telling me every day that I have 100-200K $ more or less than the previous day. That is quite stressfull, since I am not rich, and suche differences..... brrr....

Manually searching coins are better than using bots, they are very unpredictable for me the best way is to do your own research.

I agree the best way to find your coins is to do manual researching because in the end of the day your funds future will in your hand.
