no, but i know segwit2x fork make bitcoin price down, i see in bitcoin market cap down 8.35%.
then this is still in the christmas holiday conditions and the end of the year. and a few days later it will rise again, but it will likely take a long time.

I dont think so.
It might be the holidays that made it fall.
People withdrew money for their Christmas Eve and the upcoming New Year.

That is all I can think of the main reasons.
Bitcoin also pulled down a lot of altcoins.

Unconfirmed and false rumors that the South Korean government plans to ban bitcoins and crypto-exchange exchanges, led to a noticeable reduction in bitcoin prices.
Yes, this is it, there have been false rumors rearding the South Korean government actions, just FUD.

by this dip for there is a lot of negative news that are spreading for here people that are lack of knowledge then they are able to think a lot of negativity but for me i may know that someday it may recover and this is normal the price is moving and there is nothing to worry about.

Because you have the "knowledge" then maybe you would like to remind me the last time that transaction fees
were anything even close to being this high and the price recovered because I cannot find it in any charts so
maybe I have not be around quite as long as you.

I am useless at trading and had shares in IBM who had the PC market to themselves and then I jumped
into AOL when the internet really got started with 56k modems so I figure selling Hens Teeth must be
where my skills and potential must lay  Roll Eyes

This is normal. Bitcoin falls and then it rises back up. No need to panic!

Yes agree that 30% swings are nothing and quite normal but what is not normal is the mega high transactions fees
so now we are sailing in un-chartered waters and Joe public is not going to risk his $200 on this ride if the fees
to move 250 bytes of data is going to cost $45 or more.

Why they might even call it a scam and go for one of other the other coins where fees are only $0.10 because
this casino is too posh for your average man and make no mistake we are all gambling

It was not because of that fork, in fact, it did not even made a great change on what the price was before, and a lot of people were saying that the price was going to increase.

It was a shitty fork, just like the rest.

Why Bitcoin dip today, just before the Segwit2X hard fork? Normally, a fork only rises the Bitcoin price.

And the price of SegWit2x in https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/segwit2x/#markets also drops heavily.

Please be reminded that this fork is not the real Segwit2x! This has nothing to do with the cancelled fork that happened this november. You can check the developers of this coin, this is just another altcoin that cloned the blockchain of bitcoins much like bitcoin cash, bitcoin gold, bitcoin diamond, or whatever scam bitcoin fork that happened in the past.

This could have not been the reason of the price drop of bitcoins. The recent drop was clearly due to the correction of the price and not this poser coin. Do not be fooled by this coin.

You all can check this out, https://blog.drhack.net/segwit2x-28-december-scam/

Not the most reliable source of news, but it has a lot of indisputable proof so you can check the facts yourselves. This is a scam coin indeed.

The only forked coin which has led bitcoin price to face a dip is BCH that too due to the vigorous pumping of roger ver.No other forked coin has affected bitcoin price.Price dip may be due to lack of interest in investors to buy new bitcoins as yet another celebration of new year is coming. Also, the heavily increasing transaction fee adds some value to the FUD that bitcoin would lose its place to BCH.

Nothing has to do with the current fork... because as we know forks should be increasing the value of bitcoin.
in mo whales are cashing out to  later buy back...

It is December, many people are on Holiday that is why the price of bitcoin is going down. it is normal because sometimes things like that even happened in a weekend.

No. i believe bitcoin is still recovering from the last correction. Some time it takes a month or two for bitcoin to fully recover.

I think also the same. With fork, price of bitcoin should be higher because bitcoiners want to get free coin mean they will have much more money if convert to fiat or more bitcoin if its used to buy bitcoin.
But now, bitcoiners feel fork is not useful anymore.

I think people who know the quality of the fork, they dont interest with fork anymore.
I was thinking bitcoin will be higher before fork but not. Like funny but this is real.

We've seen this happening before, but the price refuses to remain down. I think it is just a matter of time till it will come back high

Just a short period where Bitcoin seems to be dipping but as usual from the beginning of hard fork occurrences, it will recover swiftly and get back to as much as the previous highest mark. B2X was expected to have more of an impact but its price being below $400 has just caused a very small correction in Bitcoin's price. Expect it to bounce back harder with a bullish few days in early January next year.

There is a misunderstanding going around the community that because of the segwit2x the price dipped, it has nothing to do with the fork happening as this is not the real segwit2x but a clone. For most of you'll who are not aware, South Korea is mulling strict actions against Bitcoins and that's been another negative news for the crypto king, though there's lack of clarity what action shall take place, it was a blow as Korea is a booming market. Hence there was a fall, and the happening of the fork was just a coincidence.

I think it is normal that BTC price goes down before a fork because few people panics, selling their BTC. Besides, more people are still probably under the influence of the Holidays, converting and cashing out their BTC profit to spend for the New Year's Eve preparations or something. Just wait and its price will eventually goes up after a few days.
