Money itself can't make you happy, but it can help you do things which makes you happy

I think when it's used correctly it can be a brilliant thing, but that's like with any invention made by human beings.

Like all tools it can be used for good or for evil. You can use a hammer to build a house for a homeless person or you can use it to bludgeon him over the head. However, on net the world is made better by hammers, the same is true of money.

If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?

I only respect money because it feeds my kids. I enjoy the bonuses in life but could do without.
Money can't make you happy, remember that.

Money is nothing but a store of energy.  Instead of working now for that slice of pizza, I can work now for money, and then trade it with whomever, whenever, for whatever I want.  This is precisely why I don't like fiat; there's nowhere to go but down, and in a set amount of years, the work I did in the past will have been for nothing; stolen energy, a waste of time, and I value my time pretty fucking well, since it's limited in supply and I have no idea how much of it I will ever have.

Very well put.

I agree on all the past replies in this thread. Never overvalue money.

I love money. I love the smell of money. This image gives me a raging hard-on. I'd fuck that fat stack of cash if I could find the wet spot.
