I was completely shocked today to see ripple briefly overtaking ethereum (marketcap)!  I am scared to see bitcoin becoming the next victim in the future. Now, when do u think bitcoins to start increasing given the fact that the  popularity of ethereum and ripple is also increasing? do u think investors would be as keen to invest in bitcoins as we have seen in 2017?

Thanks for your answers Smiley

Yes me too! I was too surprised after seeing the market for Ripple hit the 2 USD mark. Dam I mean thats cool for any coin to hit the 10X rates in such short period of time and more than that whats important is, it is being done naturally. There is no artificial pump and neither there is any bad legacy behind it! The 24 hour volume is almost 2-3 billion dollars for the XRP, and it is more or less similar to ETH only. This is really dangerous thing for the ETH coin and amazing thing for the XRP market itself.

Though XRP is getting into hearts of investors but I don't think it will cross the BTC market itself. It is huge and more than enough to keep the #1 place all the time. I agree on the XRP market completely, its best and it can move further than what we are seeing right now but it will take huge efforts for it to reach the BTC prices.

Lol!!!

Bitcoin has made such a HUGE move forward that people just keep focusing on last week losses.
What's the matter if btc lost 10% in a week? Did everyone already forget that it jumped nearly 100% in value in about... what? A month? Two maybe?

Ripple is just getting the money from the panic sales of btc by people too stupid to realize the trith: there is no bubble just a huge massive exponential move forward. That's all.
So yeah expect btc to move upwards! But don't mind me it doesn't mean ripple won't follow, there is room for plenty of currencies here Smiley

Yes, Ripple has long been in a downward movement. And its growth has been waiting for many investors for more than six months. I think this is the beginning of the growth of this crypto currency. But to bitcoin it is still far away. And the broadcast by the way, too, did not grow normally.

There is room for both Bitcoin and Ripple. Dont worry. Both are very good projects.
But I think Ripple will surpass Bitcoin in 2018

Ripple is government's favorite coin because it's centralized, doesn't even have a blockchain, they could control it... im sure a lot of governments would like to see Ripple take the #1 spot. Also a lot of people involved in Google are working Ripple. This is why big enterprise deals are being mad with Ripple. It's also a really old project. Satoshi talked about Ripple many years ago it seems, even before Bitcoin was released which was surprising for me to find out. Then again Ripple doesn't solve the byzantine generals problem or anything on that level.

I dont't think we're going to see any major movements in Bitcoin until mid-january, reason being is that it's the holidays and people are doing their own thing during this time of the year. Same thing happened last year, price went down in the december.

About XRP, I'm no sure what exactly is going on, seems like japan and korea are the ones pumping the price thanks to the news of some asian banks testing Ripple. Personally, I wouldn't like to see a completely centralized cryptocurrency supported by the banking system as the next ruler of the crypto market, but by the looks of it, it could happen.
Btw, Ripple's current uptrend doesn't mean that it's becoming more popular, it just means that either its price went up (the market can be ridiculous sometimes) or more ripples that were already pre mined were introduced into the market, so there wouldn't a correlation to its popularity.

I believe bitcoin is stale at the moment in terms of growth. Bitcoin is not predictable, but at the moment most people are not gonna have money till end of January due to the christmas holidays and new year. Its going to take many months for bitcoin to rise. It may most likely fall though. I think we need to diversify into smaller cryptocurrencies in order to get maximum returns. Look at electroneum and maybe xrp ship has sailed but buy some and hold it for a long term incentive.

I guess Ripple is Centrakised which ETH/BTC are decentralised. Ripple was been accepted by bank in my location and yes, ripple is growing much above. But reaching the price of bitcoins is too hard for any crypto. Bitcoins will too soon pump back in 2018.

Ripple has a different concept compared to Bitcoin, so no, it will not replace Bitcoin. But Bitcoin will definitely need to do something about the transaction costs and speed if it wants to stay on top.

Best way to LONG/SHORT Bitcoin. Up to 66x leverage. Register on BitMax now!

ripple has less than zero resemblance to bitcoin. could it pump past it? you never know. would it matter? if people can't understand why bitcoin is important then they deserve to get schooled when its properties are actually needed. ripple won't be of any use to them then.

I think the bitcoin will still rise in the near future.  And same goes to ripple or other cryptocurrencies.  Ripple has the advantage now because compare to bitcoin before when it was started, there was very few people knew about it and not much of promotions or advertisements, unlike now with the Ripple, people have knowledge already regarding the cryptocurrencies, so they will believe the Ripple now because of the testimonies of Bitcoin, Ethereum and other large market capital of cryptocurrencies.

The reasons for the growth of the ripple rate consisted first of all that 61 large world banks united to use this coin within the banking system for making instant transfers of payments around the world, and now information has been received that Japanese and South Korean financial institutions are considering the possibility of using its technology for their needs.

I don't think Ethereum, ripple or any other alt-coin will take over the market cap of Bitcoin, or Volume (USD) traded because these things do not compare to bitcoin in terms of security or recognition. If an alt-coins market cap does end up surpassing Bitcoin, I would theorize this would be the "bubble" everyone likes to pretend Bitcoin is, and the artificial market cap will be shaved off in no time. I only think ETH or Ripple can be artificially "more valuable" if it ever even comes close.

These secondary coins are only thought of or bought at all because of what bitcoin has become and what others know about bitcoin; none of these other coins stand on their own two-feet in the long-term. Bitcoin will keep its seat until it is not applicable, irrelevant or refuses to develop solutions to certain problems.

I don't think that any coin created in bitcoins image, as a copy, except slightly different (normally these differences centralize distribution, development, or allow for other flaws/faults that are not possible with bitcoin); they lack the foundational principals that have made Bitcoin the integral giant it has become in our world of modern finance.

yes, everyone is worried about bitcoin. they are afraid of losing their wealth, so they do not want to invest in bitcoin. but we should not be afraid and worried, because the bright light will increase again in 2018. I predict in 2018 will reach $ 35000.

Bitcoin will continue to be battling other coins. Ripple has made great growth in a short span of time. We will continue to see bitcoin grow through 2018.
