Is Ripple the currency of the future?

I don't think so ripple will be the future currency. Its marketcap is now at second no & supply of ripple  is very high. But trading volume is increased day by day that is the good sign for ripple further growth. I can say it can be a profitable for short term. I always afraid to buy high supply coin.

Honestly, I'm very surprised for this evolution of the price in this period, and this jump of the value is unexpected. Moreover, the statistics of this currency are amazing (The price has evolved by 106% in last 7 days), and I guess that the better choice is to hold and to invest in Ripple (XRP). also the better advantage is the huge amount  of  circulating Supply and the development of the market cap.
And It is expected that this currency will have a good future and  I hope that the price  will be more huge.

I only had a few Ripples in my possession, but my friend has around 3,000 and he's jumping for joy that it overtakes Ethereum based on the market cap. Ripple was suppose to be slow in terms of growth, but the whales are coming in and that's what XRP's market value jumped.

I'm a bit surprised of XRP's sudden surge, and it's one of the sleeping giants that will become bigger next year, especially when it'll be added to Coinbase's roster of accepted cryptocurrencies.

I can't say that it's the future, but the recent surge speaks for itself. However, there's a chance it may dump big time later on. We'll see about it in the next few months.

The supply is too high. It can go the way of a aggressive pump and then a mass sell off which will send prices back to a few months ago. Who knows.

Ripple is not a full decentralized blockchain (like Bitcoin or Ethereum) so it will not fit all use cases.

This is simply false. Their decentralization strategy is only to become more decentralized, while remaining centralized as their ultimate goal. The list of validators is known, and they are trusted entities, and they are the ones who will be voting on changes to the protocol. How is that not centralized? Their comparison, and claims, of becoming more decentralized than bitcoin and ethereum, based on number of mining pools, is false. Anyone is free to become a miner and form a pool, and to join any pool they wish. That is not so with XRP. Bitcoin and ethereum are far more decentralized.

But XRP will be good competition for bitcoin and ethereum, given its 1500 transactions/second.

Lot has got such a thinking with the ongoing growth of ripple. On the other side some describe this to be a temporary surge of growth. With the growth it has been taking place I don't think it is temporary and more users were into panic just because of the ripple's growth and downfall in value of bitcoin.

Hopefully we can say any development of this coin for another few weeks and for now we still have to observe at it get too hard to predict while bitcoin price also stabilized at a moment. As other people were saying that when bitcoin stabilized its price, that's possible that the alts will pump up its price because more investors will be diverting their assets to another crypto currency due to expensive bitcoin value. Also it always depends on every investors perceptions against their investments strategies, some of them thought that investing with alts can boost their bitcoin income as well.

As much as i believe its potential to surpass ETH in the crypto world, i am so convinced too that Ripple will follow Bitcoin's path to domination. But not now. Not while Bitcoin is around.

This is funny if you really believe that ripple will do this. Be realistic please. Now, it's nothing, but, a great hype in ripple. That's it! Wonder your reactions when the price decline 2x or 3x next year.

Banks are the reason why this coin is going to the moon.
The total cryptoworld today is nothing compared to the values that will go through RippleNet once they start using XRP.

It never occurred to my mind that ripple will become as the currency of the future because in order for the ripple to become as the currency of the future it has to toppled down the bitcoin which is the leading contender in the cryptocurrency world, and as far as we know bitcoin has the many investors and users up to date. Ripple is still young and it has still many things to prove before it can be named as the currency of the future.
