I think you'd better trade your Dash to Ethereum. Because in my opinion, Ethereum more simple and more have a chance to rise in early 2018 later. And last night a lot of volume that led to Ethereum because of news of the increment in early 2018. But all options are in your hands, sir.

Thanks for the input. Valid. I'm also hoping to be able to stake ETH when POS kicks in

Sell your dash and keep your ethereum, Because of ethereum even better than dash. But rather than convert your ethereum and dash to the bitcoin and why don't you just try to trade your etheruem or dash directly to the fiat pair? because the bitcoin fees are pretty ridiculous high. ethereum will be bigger in Q1 2018

I think its safer to sell Dash than ETC. Because as you can see already ETH is pumping maybe in early 2018 it will reach thounsand dollars. So better to keep your ETH. Just my opinion.

I wouldn't bet on buying Bitcoin right now as its value could still five deeper. If you are still with gains and if prices are showing no signs of weakness, you might as well stay put.

Dash is already spiked upto the limits it can reach this year. I think you should go with the DASH to BTC only. Also, ETH has strong points this new year, its spiking is sure shot and many speculators are saying that it will take no time until it gets spiked to double in value which it currently is having. DASH is currently in the non aggressive mode, what it had, it had achieved already and its time it will go in the dormant stage. You wont be able to recover it and then replenish your ETH needs. So better let it go for your needs and get some fiat exchanged in short time. :-) Plus one to that one.

If I were on your shoes I'll check first which currency fits the money that I need when I convert it to fiat. I think it'll be easy to decide which one to give up. You can still invest again later when you have the money.

I would say keep the Ethereum, I think it has more prospects of a big rise soon. So if you have to get rid of one, get rid of Dash. But it is a shame to get rid of any - I would first exhaust all possibilities of raising fiat without dipping into your cryptocurrency holdings. But if you have done that and you need to sell, then just keep the Eth.

So we have to keep waiting for POS and already the price of ETH is kept increasing in the market but POS is completely different to implement with the POS.

I think you should avoid converting to Bitcoin and then from Bitcoin to FIAT, because Bitcoin still has high fees when moving across their network. Instead you should look for an exchange or service that can directly convert your altcoin (Dash or ETH) to FIAT. For ETH : https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/#marketsFor DASH : https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dash/#markets

Thank you for all the very constructive comments. Great community! I am thus hodling the ETH (plus adding some), hodling some DASH and selling a small amount DASH for FIAT I will also check out the direct DASH/FIAT options DASH has lots of potential but as was stated, right now it is a bit dormant ps. I have alread exchanged considerable DASH for SKY ... highly recommended ... but that is another discussion altogether.

I understand your point since it appears that BTC's value has stabilized around the 14k level. What I'm concerned about is if another dump happens which we can't tell because of the uncertainty of things right now.

At this time it is very promising to transfer their coins to ethereum. This coin in the next year will definitely grow in price, as confidence in bitcoin has recently been greatly shaken. The fate of bitcoin will depend on how quickly and successfully a lightning network will be introduced into the patient bitcoin and how effective it will turn out to be. Otherwise, with bitkoynom as the king of the crypto currency, we will have to say goodbye.

Do not sell Ethereum. There are all prerequisites for further growth. Sell better Dash. This is just my opinion. This you need to make a decision. But leave Ethereum, in the end for it you can buy another altcoin or exchange for Dash.

If you will sell to BTC pair in any case - ethereum is a good choice. ETH price to BTC is a month high, such ratio will not last too long.

Who is willing to use DASH when they try to keep their store running? They could use Bitcoin instead of DASH, most people know about the pre mine too.

Who is willing to use DASH when they try to keep their store running? They could use Bitcoin instead of DASH, most people know about the pre mine too. Dash never had a premine, please stop spreading lies. Instamine or fast mine : yes Premine : no Link : https://dashpay.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/OC/pages/19759164/Dash+Instamine+Issue+ClarificationAnyways your comment does not make any sense, who would use Bitcoin when they have high fees and long transaction confirmation times with Bitcoin ? There is a reason that Steam stopped using Bitcoin, there is also a reason more and more small (and large) merchants are switching to Dash.
