Bitcoin convention in Amsterdam, on the weekend of September 26th to 28th.
Tickets are now for sale. More info available here

http://theconference.eu

Convention is run by Moe Levin, with finances handled by me. The brains (or drive, or ideas) behind it are Matthew N. W's and Moe's, but, Matthew, understanding his established reputation, he has left all control of the convention to Moe and myself. Tickets are €150.  We have a few speakers lined up, and plenty of attendees buying tickets already, so it should be a fun conference.

I'll post more info once I get some free time, and more as I get it. Any questions can be directed to me or Matthew. I'll try to be more polite in answering them though  Grin

EDIT: The multiple other threads related to this have been locked, since we were in the process of finding a venue, and they didn't have correct information.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Thanks - I am an Amsterdam fan... visiting the city 2-3 times a year (business plus private) & I am thinking to invest there too. But any recommendations for some new good restaurants and places are welcome!

There are so many threads about this conference, all with different dates. Even though they are locked, it took some time for me to find this one. Maybe it is a good idea to edit dates in their titles and to put links to this thread.

Sorry about that. The person managing communications for this conference kept starting threads with dates before we even had a venue pinned down, so the dates kept changing as we kept negotiating the where and when, and then he got banned from the forum for arguing with a mod... Of something... So the most we could do is ask those threads to be locked. I don't think he'll be doing any more communications for this any time soon Smiley

Updated speaker list, including members of the bitcoin foundation.

Also, Germany has recognized the use of Bitcoin as legal currency, so we're bringing in the lawyers that have helped make it happen from Winheller Law Firm.

Don't have the cash to attend but it would be fun if there was a side "Satoshi square" type meeting. Unfortunately the regular Bitcoin Wednesday organizers stick to the first Wednesday of September which is too early (and the first Wednesday of October is too late).  Sad

If you're interested in helping to organize a satoshi square meeting I'm willing to help with venue space and/or as much as I can.

Message me.

Message me.

The organizer of the Dutch Satoshi Square (Bitcoin Wednesday) is Pikapay.

I haven't been in Amsterdam for years. Would be nice to go there again for a Bitcoin meeting though.

I'd love to see that happen! Or even a bitcoin marketplace, where people can come and buy/sell random stuff for bitcoin. I'll definitely have lots of coins with me on hand.

what about sunny king from PPcoin? would love to get more info about that Smiley

plus, is there something like a time schedule for the 3 days?
like, at which time do the first speakers start, when does it end in the evenings, who speaks on which day etc?

We'd love to have Sunny King. We'll reach out this week.

Right now, we have about 40 speakers and 6 panels. Today we confirmed Roger Ver from Memorydealers, Aaron Koenig from the Berlin Bitcoin Exchange, Jacob Boersma from Innopay, and Robert Nederhoed from Bitmymoney.

As you can imagine, some of these speakers have some time limitations, so we are still creating the ideal schedule which can have adequate times for networking, drinks (obviously), and business. For now, our schedule is 9am-6pm for each day, divided into sections for networking, speeches, panels, and lunch. I promise to give you the full details soon.

If you have any other suggestions, feel free to contact me, would love to hear all your ideas!

If you're interested but can't afford it, send me a message. I'm sure we can work something out so you can come and not have to break the bank.
