First of all, gambling is not a profession in which it is guaranteed that there will be a peak in his career. It could be the case that the person will make a very little or no profit at all, actually this is the case most of the times. People lose their money and go back home empty handed.

Well I don’t agree with your statement. Reason is, if someone reached out at peak of its career, although it is in this worst game even, he wouldn’t be letting this thing go from him. Reason is, he had so much difficulties and problems while stepping up and now when he completed his journey towards his goal, you are telling him to leave this game and quit. He will never do it.

What will you do with the other half if you bust? Would you come next day(or any other day) to gamble with it? If you have 100$ which you can afford to lose, why would you take only half of it? It is EV- game, separating funds doesn't make much sense in long run.
