I am not sure how do you come to this conclusion before this BCH had done same move then after litecoin (LTC) has done 50$ to 300$ move now after long time ripple is getting pumped and it will never be alternative for any crypto currency not even for smallest token . You just check DENT token growth in last month .  Its just pump soon it will be dump harder.

Ripple is an alt coin generated through the concept of bitcoin.  It is a bit off if ripple can replace its head.  Bitcoin has move quite far to be overtaken because its acceptance in the network has reach a global stage and has passed the standard of regulated banking institutions of countries that allows bitcoin to be accepted as digital currency payments.

I think it's hard enough if Ripple can evict Bitcoin's position in Year 2018 and I think it will not be possible because Bitcoin is the first one standing out of all the coins. but I also think if Ripple is very potential for the future as well as Ethereum.and I think Ripple will only compete with Ethereum not with Bitcoin and they will only be for 2nd place.Bitcoin will remain the No. 1 in the World of cryptocurrency even though it is now costly and the shippers are long enough.

Its as simple as why no one is using Altavista or AskJeeves anymore. They were the first search engines but was replaced by Google and Yahoo.

Indeed, Ripple is the talk right now because of it surpassing ethereum however, if we consider the difference in market cap of btc and eth, there's a huge gap. So I'm not saying its totally impossible, but it can't be achieved in just a year. Maybe..just maybe, in three years time, with the support of banks, XRP will surpass BTC.

No other currency has been around as long as bitcoin, therefore no other crypto has had to go through the roadblocks that BTC has.

Ripple can be controlled by the government and corporations, Bitcoin cannot, you might say it is a shitcoin because it's currently at one of these roadblocks, but right now there is a massive push underway that will fundamentally change the game, once the lightning network is out of the testnet, everyone will see what the real shitcoins are.

I think that Ripple can not replace Bitcoin in 2018, but in future, it will do it. Ripple has still not had private wallet and it has not listed coin base exchange, when this happend, ripple will actually take off to the moon

I am not sure if RIPPLE will replace Bitcoin or not, maybe some other coin might replace it like CARDANO or IOTA. I think because the big bank money is behind RIPPLE, it does have a sure chance in beating Bitcoin at it's own game, because although it is a centralized currency, most people in crypto are not idealists, they just want to make a fast buck, so if RIPPLE is the one to make them money they will follow it, even if it is a banker backed coin.
