is there selling boards with full soldered parts but without BFL chips possible to order?
I'll like to solder the chips by myself if they arrives. Some samples are allready waiting for soldering Wink
That would be difficult. How do you want to solder your chips when the rest of the components are already soldered?
When you do some hotair or reflow, the other components will maybe fell off. (There are components from both sides)

Are boards without chips pre-tested?
All boards are being e-checked via flying probe testing before assembly.

Maybe there is an option you can send your chips in, to get them assembled to the boards. Lucko has to answer that.

You will need to Laser Solder them.

It was previously stated here that you can supply your own chips for board assembly.

Hello,

I'm sorry I've not allready read the full topic. I will do this later this weekend. You must not rewrite allready answerered questions :-)

You will need to Laser Solder them.

That's no problem. I can use infrared reflow with or without mask laser hot air and much more tosolder them.
I will test them so I've ordered some not functional dummy chips Wink before I will solder my samples.

So I want to order still 6 boards with all parts without the chips + 1 board for testing purposes without
parts Wink
Maybe it is better to have the soldered boards without opposides capacitors mounted?
I can send pm for detail and payment questions ;-)

What is not a good idea it to have the capacitors on the opposide of the board. This will prevent the mounting
on standard 19" disk array rack or I must use one with more high :-(

The other point on the capacitors are they temp stable enough ? I know that low quality capacitors have decreased live time :-(

Maybe I cannot find the exact dimensions of the board without cooling ( length x with x low (lower side) x high (upper side). If not allready posted, can you give me the dims, please?

Thx and cheers...

Hi,

is there selling boards with full soldered parts but without BFL chips possible to order?
I'll like to solder the chips by myself if they arrives. Some samples are allready waiting for soldering Wink

How can I order 6 to 12 boards and when will they arrive to germany if I will order tomorrow Cheesy

Are boards without chips pre-tested?

Cheers...
Possible... But you need to know what you are doing...

If you order tomorrow and we would have boards in hands it would take about 4 days... It can be done quicker but I see no point in that since chips are not jet delivers...

Hi Lucko

COINTAMINATION

I notice from your posts you are estimating 20 days from chip arrival to mount the boards.

I will need 2 "full" boards for certain for my batch 2 chips 17th July +120 days

I will need 2 "full" boards for certain for my batch 3 chips 14th August +120 days

The unknown at the moment is my BFL little single.

If this arrives before the batch 2 chips,( 27th October?) I need to decide on upgrade or not to upgrade.
(some guidance may be required as to the cost of this) Undecided Embarrassed

If it does not arrive by then( 27th October?) my question is:-
When would I need to confirm a "half" board to meet with the remainder of my batch 2 chips?

Maybe I'm asking this to soon. You are still to announce your board costs.

Its possible that when your batch 1 chips arrive, and you have better chips, the "COINTAMINATION"
may leave the BFL's out in the cold with regard to Hashing rates.
No idea where did you get 20 days... I think that after BFL sends it will take about 4 to 6 days to get them. Then processing 100 chips is into a big deal and shroud be done in a day.. And then 24 hour test on your pool and shipping to UK... I guess 10 days max

About single a need to ask form... What he discovered...

And yes it is possible. My Jala flashed with CONTAMINATION firmware is doing 8,6MH... Jala was 6,5 stock(2 GH upgrade), upgrade to 1.2.5 was 7,3 and doing what was suggested in in this forum in "Experimenting with Jalapeno firmware..." got it to 7,8...

For the rest give me some time...

It was previously stated here that you can supply your own chips for board assembly.

Yes it is. It will cost you a bit more then GB buyers but yes you can.

I think you are mistaken test board and production board. And test board had capacitors there with a reason... Heating them with air from fan decrease there life. But production board has different type so they are not on the back...

- New size: 189.23 x 144.78 mm cooling is probably about 50 to 60 mm high

Yes GH... 291 and 297(not home so I'm writing from memory) if I'm not mistaken...

It got all 15 engines working with only 1,5% more HW errors Smiley

As far as FrankenJala's go, any idea on pricing for your team to mount the chips? Like a per chip price? Or??? If you have no idea yet, no biggie. It'll be another 2 months until my Jala is here anyway. I am loving the EXPRESS TRAIN that the COINTAMINATION has jumped on Cheesy
Sorry missed you..

Yes we are at the moment on really low number of samples. So we would like to keep as much as possible for COINTAMINATION... And since FrankenJala is not propriety we are not going to risk samples that might help get main project up and running... But we will probably do 2 chip upgraded soon...

And then testing Little single upgrade. It looks like you have all parts on board only chips are missing... So it is easy upgrade... We will probably learn all we need to with FrankenJala...

I'm happy to announce that we have a USA assembly house available for this project. So anyone from USA can get there chips mounted there...

The chips and boards will be assembled at a top notch west cost facility. This will get things faster and cheaper for USA clients...

That is good news. How does that work for those that have chips in multiple chip batches  that were planning on having you host the incomplete board while waiting on remaining chips? I don't expect you to have all the answers to everything yet I'm just bringing it up. I would have ordered 16 chips in one batch but I'll be honest I didn't expect you guys to get a 16 chip board going. I am happy to be wrong...

Lucko,  just donated 3 sample chips to your project.  Your US rep should get them in 2 days.

It takes time to get it... We are probably about 10 days away... We could get it faster but would cost much more...
