I typically transfer BTC from GDAX to buy altcoins on Binance, but I'd like to use my altcoins on Binance to buy other altcoins on the site. Can you exchange altcoins to buy other altcoins? It seems like you can just use BTC to buy.
Thanks!

First you can sell your altcoin to BTC and then buy the altcoin you want, although it will cost you some fees and a little fluctuation.

There's only btc, eth and bnb pair in binance so the only alt you can use to buy altcoins from binance beside btc are ethereum and binancecoin . It's almost the same on other exchanges, only btc and eth pair. If you want to buy altcoin then you have to sell your alts first to btc or eth.

I have ETH that I can transfer over to Binance from GDAX. When I go to the exchange to buy an altcoin, the only option it gives me to buy it with is BTC. Will it give me the option to use ETH once I have it in my account on Binance?

You can buy/sell using BTC, ETH, BNB or USDT On your top right menu, click on the current pair (ie: BNB/BTC) then click on ETH tab. You will then be able to see all the crypto that you may trade using ETH in Binance.

It is very difficult to calculate the cost of different coins in relation to different coins. From an economic point of view, you can calculate the cost of a relatively stable unit or unit, accepted by all for the standard. In the crypto currency world the coin value in relation to bitcoin, tether and ethereum. Therefore, on the stock exchange you can buy altcoins for bitcoin, ethereum, personal tokens of this exchange and some others.

This is a really convenient and well designed exchange. And there is BNB coin that allows to reduce trading fees. BTW Binance is going to burn some BNB in Jan 2018. The amount of burned coins will depend on the trading volume. It's awesome!

To buy some alt you should have BTC, ETH, USDT or BNB coins. So mostly you need to sell some alt and get some of these coins to buy anothers. Most of tokens/coins are traded against BTC.

convert your altcoin into btc and buy altcoins. or you can buy altcoin with ethereum which is also altcoin. but I think they need to add some other major altcoins to trade with.

Yes you can use other altcoins such as ETH or BNB to purchase other altcoins. USDT can also be used to buy altcoins on Binance.

Yes, usually there are other Altcoin markets available. You just have to click the tab saying ETH or in case of Binance BNB. As ETH is widely accepted, ETH is the currency, you can use to buy most of the other coins. In other exchanges, there might be markets for LTC or DOGE, the latter especially for cheaper coins.

The network could be clogged with transactions at the moment, which is why it's taking a long time. Check whether your transaction has been successful on Etherscan. However, if it takes any longer, you should contact Binance about your funds as they are on the receiving end.

Does your tx id appears? If you are not seeing it for almost four hours and you can try to make a ticket to the gdax support. it seems like your transaction has not been broadcasted by the gdax exchange site. It may better for you to make a ticket to their support as fast as possible and they can try to give a response for your problem
