There is no thread here in the forum for saying happy birthday wishes for bitcoin. This day first day bitcoin invented and comes to the market. You will find the bitcoin more bump this year for sure, I think we may find the bitcoin grows upto 25k USD before end of this year.
So next best year would be 2018. There are many companies and banks are allowing crypto platform in future for they comes with the new coin.

2018 will not be that good a year for BTC because of altcoins catching up. It will still rise and stabilize but 2018 will be the year of altcoins. In 2017 itself ether and some other alts showed more growth than BTC. 2018 will see rise of cryptos other than ether & BTC because increasing public awareness with them. Particularly keep an eye on IOTA & DASH.

The first years are always excellent because the price has gone crazy in a short, and then the rate of decline begins to decline, the year 2017 was great, but we must see a few corrections.

bitcoin doing well and price added massive amounts 2017 was great and hope to repeat it again.

dumping from 770 to 316 is also not bad  like dump from 14,000 to 7,000 or maybe less than that.
 2022 will be next amazing year.

It is the year that proved Bitcoin has real worth and is not just a Ponzi scheme although in the process some people still call it a bubble. At least it was legalized by some countries. Theres no argue on that which I do really consider year 2017 is the best year for me. I don't consider on those earliest times since those years are only good for early adopters which mostly they do really benefited the most unlike now on where there are lots of bitcoins hodlers and did able to make money out of this years price increase which is really amazing. Hopefully this trend will continue on this new year.

Although it may have been the 4th year in terms of percentage, its just stunning how high it reached value wise... 3 months ago most people were praying for it to reach 10k and they though that once it reached that value others would panic sell and bitcoin would drop (since 10k was the price to finally cashout at for many). Here we are 3 months later we had an ath around 20k and i think most of us expect a bright 2018 for cryptocurrency in general

I believe 2017 is the year when Bitcoin boomed like "WOW". I only heard of bitcoin last year and I was amazed how my schoolmates get to know it considering we all now have various paths and we don't actually talk about it. They got their own knowledge about it from their new colleagues and from the internet. It proves to me how famous bitcoin was in 2017. I wish it could go more popular in 2018 and could go up in terms of its value.

Even if 2018 will be bearish. What then? History teach us that even after rare bearish years there are many strong bull run years. I dont expect any year with +1000% Bitcoin growth anymore. But that will also eliminate possible future bearish years also

That's a good point. I know 2014 wasn't the best year for bitcoin. Still that was a great time with Ross Ulbricht (aka Dread Pirate Roberts) claiming he inherited Silk Road from the previous Dread Pirate Roberts & had no idea where the original silk road came from. I know he's in prison now & probably not in the best circumstances but man that was hilarious.

2018 could be a key year for bitcoin. I think the new year will be pivotal in writing bitcoin's history. At this point, I don't think anyone knows what will happen. I'm clueless and am out of ideas. It appears the speculation and price volatility inherent in bitcoin is dying down as people come to the realization bitcoin isn't the easy money they initially thought it might be. That could be good for long term HODL / bitcoin as a store of value if market speculation decreases. Other than that, I'm expecting bitcoin & crypto to be a warzone, moreso than its been in past years.

Some one to provide with useful information, as other idiots just blatantly make threads stating that "bitcoin has increased to its highest in terms of percentage" and blah and blah and blah. This year may or many not prove to be much affective for bitcoin because of various reasons, one would be that people are starting to despise bitcoin because of high fees and time consuming transactions. They are looking for better alternatives, so they are switching to Ripple, Stellar, ethereum etc. People don't want to know on how to use Segwit addresses nor do they care to learn, and yet blame bitcoin for it.

But this is true when we think of it in terms of percentage, when we see this in terms of dollars this has been the best year so far and seems like a breakthrough year to me, a year in which bitcoin is no longer a coin known to some people in an obscure part of the internet, bitcoin is finally going mainstream and we'll see more of this in the next years.

The percentage represents the amount earned for anyone who bought.

Yeah I know that too, but there are many ways to look at the same date, what are you more impressed with a jump from 0.003 to 0.3 or from 980 to 13585, while the first jump is bigger and it is a 100x in a single year the jump in dollars is more impressive for the average person that is used to think in dollars, when bitcoin was worth a few cents no one was impressed, now that is worth several thousands of dollars people are impressed.
