i think the best cryptocurrency that is worthy to buy now is IOTA and and ethereum, these coins have risen so fast in the last few months of 2017, more investors have reallized the potential of these coins from bitcoin's slow transactions, since that ethereum is more popular than ever and IOTA has become the centralized coin worthy to invest.

I'm quite agree with you that Eth can be a good choice for you to invest and get high profit.

If you are new learn how yo use wallet properly and learn how to keep your wallet secure then but bitcoin and ethereum then you can learn about ico or another alt coin. You can check the market at coinmarketcap.com and learn the history of each coin and market history.

My suggestion for you are :
1. Ethereum classic ( buy it untill it forked )
2. Crypterium it is very under ico price but the project is legit.

The first 10-15 cryptocurrency which are listed on Coinmarketcap are always great to invest and it is legit. Still, i suggest to look at the project, whitepaper and roadmap before investing on any cryptocurrency.

Right now most of the market is gaining value, so this seems like the perfect opportunity to invest some money in a project that is promising, now the coins are the top are the best coins but are not the ones that give the best profits, so we need to reach a balance, we need to invest in safe coins but we also need to take some risks and invest in less well known coins.

I would choose only bitcoin for the beginning. And according to trend of bitcoin price during this week i would decide to buy some altcoins or not. because altcoins will follow bitcoin for sure.

I just thinking before the ethereum is exploded and I am discussing with my friend and we agree that ethereum classic is the real ethereum but for now, I think the ethereum classic needs to wait for a while because the ethereum wants to increase again. but I still have a hope that the ethereum classic will increase too and maybe will follow the ethereum in the future.
