Did you get some sort of error code/message? Did it install, but then crash after a couple of minutes? What OS are you using?

We can only help if you provide us with some more information

after  execute  deeponion-qt.exe .. error mesage  "Time out waiting for onion hostname"

Did you update your C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\DeepOnion\DeepOnion.conf with the latest nodes (click here)?
Maybe your router or your firewall is blocking the ports that are used by the DeepOnion wallet.
Maybe your connection to Tor is blocked and you need to use OBFS4 or MEEK, but this is NOT common.

Start with the DeepOnion.conf and update the nodes from the link I provided.
Work your way up from there. Some members can help you to forward the port used by DeepOnion Wallet because I don't remember the number.

There is only one post at the community mentioning "onion hostname" and it seems to be related to port forwarding.
You can join us at the community, I'm sure more members will be willing to help you there.
If nothing worked, you can create a Support Ticket at the community forum.

DeepOnion has had a lot of critics and some are still around but much of the fud has died down because we are nearly a year old now and development-wise, stronger than ever.

I agree with you DeepOnion is stronger than any fud. No fud can put us down.

Not many linux experts here. I suggest you visit our community forum. Many experts there with linux like @dragononcrypto, or you can also hope that he may spot your post here and answer you.

You can also try to search the deeponion.org/community using the error you got, maybe someone else had it before you and received an answer.

We have done a lot in less than a year, I can't imagine where we will be in two years.

So far every promise has been delivered and then some. All these things made me a strong believer in this project and when I see how every difficulty along the way has been overcome in shortest time possible I believe that a moment in time will come when DeepOnion will be worth much, much more than it is right now.

I understand that you don't want to sign up to many forums, I'm the same actually. However, it's way easier to get help in the DeepOnion forum than here, you might have noticed that a lot of users post in this thread and posts tend to get lost among other posts. The DeepOnion forum has a special section where users can make a thread to get the support they need.
