You won't get merit by asking for it. I don't suppose that merit's value will increase in the future so I think you'll be better off collecting ONION rewards from the VoteCentral airdrop than collecting merits anyway.

It’s certainly safer to have a hybrid coin that’s both PoS and PoW. I always liked that about DeepOnion, plus I love the staking rewards
