Where is developers at last? They earned money and gone with them? After Cryptopia was hacked they dont give any announce and have not make nothing. latest update for android wallet was made an half of year ago.... WTF?
You seem to be misinformed, pal. DeepOnion has made a lot of things and released stuff after the Android release of the wallet. Perhaps you’d like to go to deeponion.org to learn about all of DeepOnion’s releases and updates. As for the Cryptopia hack, the DeepOnion team has no relation to that whatsoever but it’s been talked about in the DeepOnion official forum. The team has definitely talked about it there. If you need another exchange to trade DeepOnion, there’s quite a number of them, you can find them too at deeponion.org if you care to take a look. DeepOnion has done so many updates up to now. This project really works and still nailing the crypto scene.

Nobody can guarantee a 100% safety of funds at any exchange. Main reason being exchange controls your private keys and are actually owners once you transfer your coins to exchanges. Only keep coins at exchanges you can afford to lose. Better trade and withdraw coins to your wallet you have control over (with private keys). and Never share your private keys.
Of course, but also we can't be completely sure even when we're dealing with fiat money and we're getting out of the house. There will always be risks, but we can make them less significant. It is like saying even our private keys can be lost or be stolen by hackers if we do not proper care to them, use good antivirus, anti-malware, etc.

Of course, I'd still prefer to own the private keys of my wallet and have my assets there instead of leaving them in an exchange. And it's more responsible too.

Feel free to participate in listing DeepOnion on more exchanges, here you can see the status of all those candidates exchanges https://deeponion.org/community/threads/complete-exchanges-process-listing-with-their-status.41027/ the first section is the one that needs attention and need to be always almost empty, meaning they have been sent or someone from DO community already took action and applied using the application form. You can also suggest new exchanges, find them and suggest them on the thread above, or even better tell us that you sent the application, as long a s you have the right info to fill in.

Any upcoming news with DO? Smart contract, etc?
The team is working on finishing the code rebase right now, after that they will work on DeepSend. Code rebase is close to completion, from what I understand.

According To France Officials DeepOnion Is One Of The Four Most Private Cryptocurrencies
Governments started noticing the DeepOnion potentials. (Before many others)
@Cryptomaster brought us this news from France below. Shortly the DeepOnion is well known in many countries and at the high government levels communications had to mention. Our domination effects so many nations. And remember the government officials needs more than anyone else the crypto (for their security and privacy). Because they have in constant competition and the banks and their fiat are not trustworthy...
Keep up!
On page 9 of the linked pdf document shows what the French Finance Committee Chair, Eric Woerth, had to say about DeepOnion in a report to the French National Assembly on 30th of January 2019.

It would also have been appropriate to propose the prohibition of the dissemination and trade of crypto-assets that guarantee complete anonymity by preventing, by their design, any identification procedure . This is the case of a number of crypto-assets (Monero, PIVX, DeepOnion, Zcash...) whose goal is to circumvent any possibility of identification of the holders.
I know it but now the French state also thinks DeepOnion is one of the four most private cryptocurrencies ...dans le monde...

According To France Officials DeepOnion Is One Of The Four Most Private Cryptocurrencies
Moreover, through anonymity, lack of control and the speculative wave that characterize them, virtual currencies also carry fraudulent practices. Pirated access platforms, the financing of dubious economic actors through virtual currency issuance, money laundering and the facilitation of optimisation and tax evasion mechanisms are all immediate problems that require a strong and rapid legal response, in the very interest of the sector. It would therefore have been useful to propose making it mandatory to take the identity when opening crypto-active accounts in accordance with the provisions specified in France by Articles L. 561-10 and R. 561-20 of the Monetary and Financial Code (additional vigilance when the client is not physically present). It would also have been appropriate to propose a ban on the dissemination and trade in crypto-actives in order to ensure complete anonymity by preventing any identification procedure by design. This is the case for a certain number of crypto-actives (Monero, PIVX, DeepOnion, Zcash...) whose purpose is to bypass any possibility of identifying the holders. To date, regulation has not gone that far. However, it went further on the issue of the status of crypto-active service providers by introducing systematic registration and optional authorisation of these players with the AMF. These provisions will create an environment that promotes the integrity, transparency and security of the services concerned for investors in digital assets. Beyond that, international regulation, on which a number of institutions work, would be welcome in this area, since providers of crypto-active services carry out an activity that is transnational in nature. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator http://www.assemblee-nationale.fr/15/rap-info/i1624.aspThis is not so positive. It's all about regulation and KYC.
