Open Source + Money = WIN
OpenSourcecoin is a SHA 256 POW/POS cryptocurrency. It has features like Symmetrically Scaling Difficulty retarget algorithm that set it apart from other cryptocurrencies. While being a proof of stake coin in the vein of P2Pcoin, OSC is different in many ways. It utilizes payment notes, called Transaction or "Tx Messages" to pass notes to other addresses within the blockchain. A checkpointing server is responsible for maintaining blockchain security to reduce the risk of a "time travel exploit", a method of reversing transactions in a hash-cash proof of work environment first described and later carried out by ArtForz of the bitcoin community.

There's some problems in the Mac wallet that have been solved.

Also, we'll be looking at fixing the dump rate on coins.  One of the things hurting the price is that the volume in trades and applications cannot overcome the daily production.  Dialing that back would help the price tremendously.

I'd be looking at releasing a new economic structure in the next few weeks.

Are you speaking of changing the specs?

Total Coins: 21 million ( 19.8 million coins by Year8 )
Reward = 25coins/60secs (not sure if correct)
daily production = 36,000 coins

If you are considering reducing the POW reward, I am in favor of that.  

Reason being that OSC functions better as 'store of value coin' than it does as a 'consumer spending coin'.  But the block speed still allows OSC to be a pretty darn good 'spending coin'.  Just that the market is rather full of 'consumer spending coins'.  [doge, digibyte, zeta, Quark]

So if reward payout is scaled down, then OSC functions even better as 'store of value coin' and the max POW mine-able timeline is extended.

I am not sure why r3wt gave up the coin I think it was well built and had some good long term potential in a sea where very few alt sha 256 d coins have any potential at all........his reasons may be buried in posts above I just found out about it though. 

It was his coin so he had every right to run it as he chose and if turning it over to others to run it was his choice I wish him well.

I'm in the same boat. I won't say don't trust, but I don't feel it's a positive direction. They already have coins which get no attention from him, adding more isn't got to improve things IMO.

The community is responsible for communication and organization of information.  Not the dev.

I don't need to believe the guy can code, the proof is in the work.  

Is there not a MAC client update from the Dev?  Is that not proof of commitment to the project?  Where we not asked to be patient?  Good things take time.  Has not the network hash and market support both significantly risen?  r3wt granted the Dev leadership role to BW, freely and willingly to move the project further.  Have some faith in the choice r3wt made.   Open Source Coin needed a very vocal advocate, a bull to enter the china shop that is the open source community.

This coin says it will go to half at 400,000 block number so if I'm understanding correctly it go from 25 coins to 12.5 coins per block.  is that correct???
