For XSPEC specifically, if you did anything other than just look for a richlist you'd know XSPEC currently has a roadmap which will make it fully private in the near future. With xspec people who care to avoid richlist can choose stealth addresses. Default is comming soon.

btw hush has also used trusted setup. Have to check other mentioned coins, but from my experience, unfortunately most of coins I checked either have some strange definitions of privacy or just pretend. Most of them don't even mention (like in a roadmap) particularly meaningful features.

For your information xspec blockchain is not public, and it uses ring signatures. Also many improvements are comming soon. 1.4 should be one month away, and v2 in 2nd Q 2018.

For XSPEC specifically, if you did anything other than just look for a richlist you'd know XSPEC currently has a roadmap which will make it fully private in the near future. Ya, show me the white paper and I will happily believe you when I can check how they will achieve that. The only thing I hear is promises that they'll achieve this. I don't invest in promises, certainly not in crypto where 90% of coins are scams (even without devs knowing they are scamming). So please, show me a peerreviewed whitepaper, otherwise I call vapourware.... XSPEC's professional 15+ years cryptographers are preparing default stealth addresses and first ever in crypto staking on stealth addresses in Q2 2018. Technical document will follow ofc. It is a good thing you don't believe, but will it matter when it happens? Only is that you will miss the train No hard feelings, just that XSPEC knows what it does, it already is the only project thats got Ring Sings, Stealth Addresses(yep they are not default) and obfuscated intergrated TOR in its client

Hi all,
Solaris is a great privacy coin with (currently) a low market cap. PoW ends in I think April. Then coins will be minted via masternodes AND PoS. Zerocoin protocol will be implemented on January 20 2018.
I highly recommend checking it out.

Tto me the most interesting project announced atm is https://www.mobilecoin.com/, although it doesn't covers all aspects of privacy (Project is still at least half year away from release.) it does cover most important things 95% of peopla cares about. One will be able to sent money anonymously (Will use stellar lumens) to friends, family etc. by using encrypted chat clients like Signal (Mobilecoin is actually Moxie's project.) and WhatsApp. On the link you can find whitepaper, and there is an excellent, very detailed wired article, which explains how everything should work: https://www.wired.com/story/mobilecoin-cryptocurrency/

Don't know about the 15+ cryptographers, can't find them here https://spectreproject.io/ anyway. we'll see about Q2 2018, weird, with 15+ cryptographers still no technical documents that can be peerreviewed... You realize that such supernew things should be peerreviewed and seriously tested... Q2 is quite the shorte timeframe, lol. We'll see about missing the train, let's hope that noone gets under the train instead ;-)

You are just being ignorant, or you don't read what you comment? People who use public addresses are visible, those who use stealth profile are not visible in the richlist. This was already mentioned. Yes we know Monero uses private profile/stealth addresses per default, and as the only option. How Monero integrates w/ Tor or I2P network? All xspec nodes run inside Tor, never leaving it (Never using exit nodes.), and it also supports OBFS4 (Tor obfuscation) for countries which block Tor. You don't have to answer, the question is rethorical. Monero still doesn't have something like that, but they are working on it. Well, xspec is also working on making private profile being default.

I think he meant 15+ years, not developers. Edit: Actually he probably meant cryptographers with 15+ years of experience.

Spent some time recently looking for low marketcap, high growth potential privacy altcoins for 2018. All have a marketcap below $50m and not on any big exchanges yet but have active developers and good tech. I'm sure I missed some good ones but here are the best 5 I found recently: 1) Lux 2) Zoin 3) Solaris 4) Phore 5) Hush I go into more detail and explain each one in this video: https://youtu.be/X0waJTP96bc. Let me know what you guys think. Seeing what happened with Verge there's definitely a possibility for some great returns, the only question that I have is one of thinking how many privacy coins do we really need? I feel the market could become saturated and then returns would be not so great. I know privacy altcoin become more popular recently. Many people talk about it. But why we nneed so many of privacy coin? I think one or two is enough. Monero is still the first one of my choice.

im a big fan of Spectre coin for reasons already discussed on here, i luckily bought in at 1USD. Out of al coins i hold Spectre and B3 have the most active communities and developers by far you see improvements being made daily whereas other coins theres no information from the last 1 month.

But why we nneed so many of privacy coin? I think one or two is enough. Monero is still the first one of my choice. There are different reason to like more privacy coins. First many of them are not private, they just pretend to be, b/c they know most of people won't care, they only like to hear somewhere 'it is a privacy, secure anonym coin'. Choice is good. Some have different capabilities. E.g. xspec works inside of Tor network + obfuscatoin in case you are in country which blocks Tor (This sometimes need additional help/configuration, but developers are always ready to jump in and help). Monero still works on their I2P solution. Competition is good. Very often return is better with low value coins. E.g. if you bought xspec one month ago, you would pay 40 cent. Current price is ~ 4.5$. That is return of 11x. We all expect it to go much further with price. I am still buying the coin, because I still think it will continue to provide a nice return for a while. I think the coin has potential to reach 100$, but even it it goes to 20$ only, it is quadruplicated investment.

Then again, check the mobilecoin.com project. There is a whitepaper on the page, and there is a great wired (Just google wired mobilecoin.) article explaining technical details. If you know who is Moxie Marlinspike you will probably like this coin. Mobile coin lacks some aspects of privacy, but it provides (It will provide, it still doesn't exist) enough privacy for 95% of people. People will be able to send money anonymously over encrypted chat clients like Signal and WhatsApp (These chat clients will be wallets at the same time.), so the focus is on normal average Joe's, comfort and security. It is quite nice, just open Signgal and send your friend money to help him or borow him, or pay someone without anyone knowing how much and what you have paid. So, you see, we don't have enough privacy coins.

And why there is no Monero, DASH. I would also add XSPEC and Verghe. This is also a private coin. The developers of these coins promise us complete privacy when using such coins

Verge is not a privacy coin. Public blockchain, and it leaves Tor network trough exit nodes. Regarding Dash I have to check, but I think they also have public blockchain, though they use mixing what is good, on another side also masternodes.
