I have dual ATI 6950's and have noticed that the primary GFX card (one with the monitor plugged into)'s fan speed is much faster than the secondary card.

I have forced the fan speed for both cards to 100 using aticonfig, eg:

 $ aticonfig --pplib-cmd "set fanspeed 0 100" --adapter=all

However when I put my hand behind the fan exhaust the primary card is pumping alot more air than the secondary.  Does anyone else see the same thing?  How can I get the fan speed up on the secondary GFX card?

Previously I ran a 5850 and if the mining script stopped the fan speed would stay at 100 no matter what.   However with the 6950 if the mining script stops, the GPU load decreases and the fan speed also steps/slows down as though it is ignoring my fan speed of 100 set.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have solved it now, it appears the --adaptor switch has no effect, but managed to change fan speed on secondary card using;

$ DISPLAY=:0.{X} aticonfig --pplib-cmd "set fanspeed 0 100"

Where {X} = 0 for primary card and 1 for secondary card.
