The decision to buy a cryptocurrency is mostly related to risk you can take, so if you want take lower risks(of course in cryptoworld circumstances) you should buy Ethereum, Bitcoin. If you are a risk taker person you can always invest in trending coins, IOTA, XRP, XLM or else.
My opinion is icon(icx) has a great potential, you can try that one.

High cap coins generally offer lower returns but are more likely to be profitable. The lower you go in cap, the greater the potential for x10 or x100, but also the greater risk of losing everything that you put in.
Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP are all solid but unlikely to go x10 any time soon. For lower cap coins that are about to rocket upwards, you will need to research these yourself - as soon as it become common knowledge, then they increase and are no longer low cap.
