Good idea but in current form easily manipulated by smallest exchanges. There needs to be a point where an exchange is not included, perhaps 1% of btc volume, otherwise the smallest can fake a small trade at a ridiculously high price to push the average.

Hi, yes in the current model trust is quite a large aspect and we're working on making this not so much of a factor. However, we've been running for almost a year now and not had such an issue. Don't worry we are fully aware of trusting the data we are provided, and some recent events have pushed improvements in this area higher up the priority list

Don't worry we are fully aware of trusting the data we are provided, and some recent events have pushed improvements in this area higher up the priority list I dont know if you already do this but just to prevent api or exchange errors I would discard any exchange rate that is 30% up or 30% lower that the other ones. For example: Bitcoinaverage pulls Bitstamp, Kraken and BTC-e api, result Bitstamp: 100$ Kraken: 105$ BTC-E: 10284$ (sounds like an error here) As BTC-E rate is more than 30% up compared to the other exchanges it is automatically discarded from the average. Also checking if the exchange rate is more than 10$ can avoid showing 0$ when some api is down.

Yes, quite a few changes haven’t been committed yet as we're improving quite a few other things alongside. Thanks for the comment though. We would love to get the 0% fee exchanges back in, just curious if you have a smart solution for this? sidenote: Bitstamp have now resolved their issues with incapsula and are back into our calculations

This was not developed to be a widget, but for our twitter stream. However, feel free to use this smaller version if you wish:

Hi, this is a strange but interesting request i guess. If there is an API for 'trends' on google, then its something we can probably do without too much work I've added it to the list

RSD as far as I’m aware doesn't have an exchange of its own, so we only display the 'global average' converted into RSD on the homepage (and data in the API obviously). If we can do anything else to help please let us know Regards BitcoinAverage

We would like to know of any features the community would like to see built into the BitcoinAverage project. Please email us at bitcoinaverage@gmail.com, or leave a response here! Maybe providing some dynamic price images like https://bitcoinaverage.com/img/price_usd.png?t=541 but more customizable (other currencies, sizes...), also some dynamic graphs rendered as an image.

Noted. We are looking for someone else to join the project in the area of frontend development, ideally with expert knowledge in javascript, and some MVVM frameworks like knockoutJS, so please contact us if you're interested!

As helpful as this on its own, do you have any specific suggestions?

Site looks awesome man. I love that it's written in python, as I'm currently learning that and it's nice to go through your code and see an ACTUAL working website.
