In the last few years bitcoin achieved prices that people didn't believe it was possible or dream of, that being said, it's completely  acceptable to think that bitcoin will once again surprise us and jump to some new all time highs during 2018, specially if you consider all this recent hype around cryptocurrency, more and more people start jumping in on the crypto boat.

In the end of 2018, I expect Lightning network should have been implemented so I believe it will boost Bitcoin popularity once again. We can see now Bitcoin scalability problem is getting a lot of attention from the mainstream, and it's bad because it's a negative sentiment, I believe Bitcoin will start to get a lot of attention once the problem is solved.

its more likely hard to predict that bitcoin price will cross or pass over $40k at the end of 2018, many of us bitcoin holders/users/owners are hoping that price hike and I hope so it will happen soon, but for me in my own opinion the $40k is hard to reach before year end (2018), as you can see, the price of bitcoin now is constantly like a turtle and its hard to get back from its all time price hike of $20k, the volatility is extremely hard to predict, im sure it will soon to reach/cross that $40k but don't know when.

There may be a short-term sprint, more than 4000 dollars, but I think the price of bitcoin will stabilize at 30000 dollars this year, and there will be lots of tokens this year.

I think we might see it go down this year and not return to the value we see today for another few years. That's the pattern Bitcoin has done in previous years anyway.

I personally think $50,000 is the end point, to $50,000, and then the price will collapse, and that's the bear market.

I really think that value will be much more.
Expecting a stratosferic value.
But in the near moment, i expect a down... between 5k to 8k.

this year is going to be even more interesting that last year to be sure. and there are a lot of critical crossroads ahead of us that if we choose correctly it can change the course of bitcoin's future a lot.

the more i learn about lightning network the more i like it and with it i do believe bitcoin can reach a lot more adoption and higher highs. there will come a time this year where $40,000 is in the rear mirror just like the way we got past $2000 and $4000 despite some thinking it will be the top price.

It can reach 40k this year. Who knows anything is possible for bitcoin only if lightning network will be released as early as they can. If LN doesn't release early, maybe the time will come that investors will never invest anymore in bitcoin and invest in other coins.

My prediction is - 30k , not more , maybe it will even stay at 20k. Somehow I lost belief in bitcoin.

The target of $40,000 is hard for Bitcoin to achieve but not impossible. Seeing the growth last year it is easy for Bitcoin to achieve $40,000 but at the same time seeing the increase in fees and confirmation delay it is tough to say whether BTC will see such a huge spike this year. Apart from that  it took BTC 9 years to reach $19000 (the ATH of BTC) and so it is really tough to say whether it will increase $21000 more in price just in 1 year.
I bet on $30k by the end of the year.
