FH Admin arrested when he just developed Onion-Bank - an attempt to limit BTC

Onion-Bank was developed for 2 years by FH Admin and would give the possibility to Onion sites to take BTC in a simple non-https way. A new opportunity to build complete sites and enlarge the Bitcoin network stopped after ~1 week by the arrest of FH Admin...coincidence?

I understand politics, but he was hosting child porn, it was staged it wasn't a lie to get to his bitcoins. If you support that type of content than you are a sick person. I am all for freedoms but not this. Tor or not, I am glad a pedophile is off the streets.

See the logic here? If you support FH which also hosted lots of other GOOD content, you support child porn and are a sicko. That is totally logical. What makes you think they knew they were hosting CP? Additionally stuff like this is staged all the time. They even have specially developed trojans for dropping CP on computers in order to have a target incarcerated and discredited. Could there possibly an easier, more efficient, risk fee way of removing opposition?  I am not saying that this is the case here, but it is completely possible. The truth is you don't know any better than I do.

He left his Hosting Service free for everyone ("Freedom Hosting") and was running Tormail too. A lot of achtivists used Tormail for safe communications. Everyone know Silk Road, right? This site brought a lot of people into Bitcoin. With Onion Bank there was a risk of a boom of Tor network based businesses, and after 1 week from the opening of this last services he was arrested.

I think it's unfortunate that freedom host was brought down, I was using Tormail myself and OnionBank could really have taken off due to the reputation of freedom host. Now that he is in jail I guess the source code won't be released. And even if, who else could take on the project? The only one with similar reputation would be the owner of Silk Road I guess.. and I'm not sure we want someone who is running illegal business to also run a wallet service.

Source? I've been waiting for something like this to really take off. Minimum sentence of 10 years per image is no joke. It would be hilarious if someone in the US started planting CP on the PCs of politicians and government officials, they would rot in prison literally for the rest of their lifes - all thanks to their own laws.

By its nature it is designed to create plausible deniability, with little record of who did it, so I don't know if you expect a CNN special report or what... but you aren't going to get one. Look around. You will see what I say is not unfounded. Activists all over the world are having this problem.
