I dont believe it s general anti crypto policy. I do believe banks will do everything they can to sabotage crypto cause their position of power has been challenged.

Yet, there will always be a way. For example Revolut has just received a banking licence so they do not need to rely on banks anymore. The same will happen with Tenx in a few months. After that, FUCK BANKS. One cannot stop innovations.

This is one of many banks around the globe.

Nordea, the Nordic region’s biggest bank, said Monday it would bar employees from trading in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as of February 28 due to the unregulated nature of the market.

Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/01/largest-nordic-bank-nordea-bans-employees-bitcoin-trade/

As I say, as long there is one or two or five banks willing to work with crypto, the rest can suck dick.
These old industries will always try to stop the way things re currently being done. I am not worried about that at all. However, I would like to know what card can I use till late March when all these big ones will start shipping again.

Yes, this is the right question. How to overbridge this period when practicly no bitcoin debit card service is offered at all and we haven't expected for situation to escalate in such direction to be prepared. Or is there any reliable card that coud be used? Exchanging bitcoins through localbitcoins or banks is not an option for me so card was ideal solution.
I'm afraid also that this card issue created a space for different scamers to offer false cards.

malaj
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Cant believe such a HUGE market s being uncovered for such a long time. What a market niche this is.

Because there are no others. There are no plan B. I dont know why every one of them states that.
Even if there were, this plan would already be screwed over by VISA, since its against their policies with the deal between MC/VISA.

All this shit started 3-4 years ago, when NETELLER and Skrill was starting to support crypto.

People started using it to withdraw for a month or two
Then Skrill/Neteller informed everyone that you could only use deposited crypto to send to other stores, and not withdraw from cards (that was easy to bypass though)

But why did skrill and neteller make this rule? Obviously their Net+ mastercard was informed to stop supporting crypto. Nothing else. So when people say this is not an attack on crypto, i dont know what else it is? The let skrill/neteller keep their cards.
After 3-6 months, they shut down the possibility to deposit BTC again. Someone has told them to do this. This someone was probably VISA, who already then threatned them.

And you all know what the rest of the story... First VISA shut down everything... Then mastercard was restricted to only SEPA......then short time after, shut down worldwide.

Someone out there does not like Mastercard or VISA to support crypto. Someone with alot power.

this.

did not know neteller skrill story, but I agree 100% with you, sadly.
I am very angry because this war started just as soon as I entered the market. i did not use my bank ATM in the last month thanks to bitcoins. And now it's all over, if I want some btc converted, I'll have to use Coinbase and my bank again, with all slowness and risks involved. Or I'll have to ask to my favourite strip clubs if they accept bitcoins, don't think so.

for all other please express your vote in my poll: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2812087.0

I guess there are always BTC to Paypal options but fees with that method re obnoxious.

Cex.io also allows withdrawal to credit card but with some verification.

There are two ways:

1. VISA Personal Payments (VPP) or VISA Direct (US cards only) and

2. MasterCard Send.

These are P2P payment systems and the sending entity is usually a bank or a service with access to that service. A few banks allow their customers to use it on their online banking platform.

Cex.io is probably an approved provider of this service.

Ok but how do I know if my regular credit cards (I have 2 visa and a mastercard, SEPA zone) can accept these kinds of payments?

I've read around that a credit card can accept money in the form of a "bonus" in the plafond for that month. You can spend it or alto ATM withdraw /but usually credit card ATM fees are high)

what fees are in cex.io?

You know by simply reading here. This system does work, CEX lists their fees and a very detailed way how to verify card with them. If I were you, I d try using a small amount, to test the system. It takes about 3 business days to transfer money.

Yes, I'll definetly try with a small amount, thanks

For the 3 days, I really hoped it was faster. If it's so slow, probably best option is SEPA with coinbase or similar

Yes, that s an option. Most of the big exchanges allow SEPA, Kraken, Bitstamp, etc.

Still, the card is the most convenient way. A company which re-enables this option first will make millions.

Just to share my experience with Mistertango.
I use it for couple of days now and the card is working fine, it's accepted everywhere so I'm happy with that.
Still I'm not happy at all with Bitcoin exchange rate. Currently the price at Bitstamp is around 11000$ and Mistertango is exchanging at lower than 9000$. This is not fair.
That is the reason that Xapo was much better and you didn't have to exchange your coins immediately, especialy not at such unfavourable rate.
So I hope that Xapo will be able to provide Bitcoin cards with new provider very soon.

Thanks for sharing.
So if I understood right you pay the deposit fee (1% / min 0.005?) and then in their "zero fee" exchange the prices are this bad? Wow... Sad

Edit: I add here, since I've just read it and I don't want to just post after post. XMLGold.eu cards will also entering into "maintenance mode" because of Wavecrest issues. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1415473.msg28990724#msg28990724

probably is better to exchange bitcoins on another exchange (kraken? Bitstamp?) and then recharge the card with a wire transfer?

Is there another service besides Cex.io which lets you deposit crypto, exchange for FIAT and then withdraw it to ordinary VISA/MASTERCARD?

About Mistertango fee, terrible exchange rate, it s better to use Virvox to Paypal, that is at least only 10%.

I'm using ePayments card right now, they work with MasterdCard.
They support BTC, BCH, ETH, LTC and BTG! Low fees, user-friendly app for iOS and Android!
A lot of features available! Recommended

Maybe it's still working because it's a MasterCard. Some say they still are in business with Wave Crest but if this is true the question is for how long and when the issues with them will start too.
Anyway, I hope Bitcoin debit cards will soon become available in much biger choice and some new reliable provider will appear.

Nah, it s not Wavecrest. Both Visa and Mastercard issues by Wavecrest are dead. I was unhappy owner of both. This must be something else if it works at all.

I would also like to know if there is some other similar service like Cex.io. You can't open account with them anymore, you get the message that registration of new users is temporary suspended. Why is that for?
What about Skrill, do they offer possibility to fund the account with Bitcoins and then withdraw to a card?

A simple question, does anyone here s got any working crypto debit card besides Bitpay for US residents? Is there anything which works in Europe and the fees are not going to make me cry?

Once more, I d like to hear experience of people who have the card working ATM, not that preorder stuff.

Thx
