Great news!!!!  Grin On the other hand, can anyone tell me why the GPU hashrate is falling on the pool? It is lowering every few days... I had about 2900mhs with my 7970, and now the same card gives about 1900mhs?! WTF? Huh

The nFactor adjusted. That's why your GPU hash rates are falling. Its meant to be mined by CPU the GPU mining is just a luxury and the changing nfactor will reduce efficiency. That's the plan it means its working right. Eventually we will reach a point where it could actually be better to just use CPU for these and your GPU for Spots as was our original intention; to have both our coins minable at the same time

From the Spots thread just so everyone sees our plan:

We are also working on something with HBN hopefully soon to contribute to their charity work. I like the direction they are heading and I feel both the Spots and Copper Bars communities can help out as well. More details coming soon

But Spots current price is crazy, it is not profitable to mine it at all... Is the price going back up any sooner?

Even at the current (very low) price, Spots is still on top right now of CoinChoose...

The difficulty changes every few blocks, so it will go up and down, obviously, but it's still very profitable to mine now that the multipools are discovering that switching to us disconnects their miners, per our design to avoid those ruining the difficulty  Wink

I've also been watching our hashrate and it seems to be above 100 mHash for the 24 hour average about 90% of the time. People are definitely still mining the shit out of it

At 6124 per 1 ounce of silver this coin is valued at roughly $.005.

As reference, Namecoin was at $.001 back in Feb or so this year before Bitcoin blew up.

So this coin is worth 5 times what Namecoin was worth at that time.

For a new, unknown coin this is a generous price.

If the founder wasn't offering silver for this coin you can bet it wouldn't be worth even 1/10th the current price.

And who says a new coin has to be profitable?  I buy and mine coins for ZERO profits because there's another great reason to do so, besides profits today, and that is Speculation.  You mine new coins before the difficulty skyrockets hoping you'll mine enough coins in the event that particular coin takes off in the future.

All great coins today at one point were worthless and not profitable to mine.  The fact you can mine this coin, accumulate it and make a profit right now it's not a normal thing for new crypto coins - this coin (as well as CPR) then, is a gift so take advantage of it.

Well, both of our coins are made to adjust very quickly. Difficulty won't skyrocket on Spots because it will just go back low when the big guns drop out.

CPR will never get above 2.0 difficulty because of the way it was coded. That's why we have .0064 CPR per block as the reward with SUPER fast blocks. CPR is meant to ALWAYS be solo mineable via CPU

Coinmarketcap.com has each spot at $0.0073 (it was as high as, I believe, $0.06 each at one point, and I believe it will return to that or even higher eventually)

Whats the nFactor right now?

I started mining after I received my first CPR as a giveaway, and was surprised to see this morning that the hashrate has halved. Do I need to change the parameters? I have been solo mining and stuck some way short of 0.2 CPR

GPU hashrate failing again , can you explain what exactly nFactor is. My hashrate was 12 kh/s last week, 8 kh/s last night but now is only 5 ....? I didn't change anything in my mining rig

nFactor is kind of "second" difficulty. I dunno why orginal implementor of scrypt-jane choose it to be variable.
It is also same for everyone so it doesnt really affect anything (except maybe closes gap between gpu/cpu)

Since the coin was meant to be CPU mined, it should be like that.
