it is hard to confess the future and the present
but may not be compared because they both give the people a constant use of the campaign or bounty
but
Currently, the market cap of Ether (ETH) is more than Ripple and Litecoin although it's far behind Bitcoin (BTC). On the whole, Bitcoin and Ethereum are different versions using the blockchain technology, and are set to establish themselves, driven by different intentions.
Over these years, the acceptance of the concept of a virtual currency has increased among regulators and government bodies. Although it isn’t a formally recognized medium of payment or store of value, it has managed a niche for itself and continues to coexist in the financial system despite being regularly scrutinized and debated.

It's an interesting question. After the christmas dip in the markets Ether has been going up and up where as Bitcoin is holding relativly steady. Which shows which of them has got the public's attention right now. But I think that Bitcoin will hold it's value well and has a great potential to go up. Ether is great and very versitile. I think they compliment each other quite well, which is why I've invested in both of them.

Well i don't think that ethereum will overtake bitcoin in terms of price and marketcap because ethereum has a lot of issues than bitcoin and also the problem with ethereum is you can make yourself a token with erc20 contract s easily so, scammers and lazy devs will create a token and ICO it for money. Maybe someday in future bitcoin will obselete and overtake with another coin just like yahoo and google.

Will BTC be replaced from ETH in future? Because as of current crypto market, demand for the ETH is higher than BTC due to various kind of ICO projects.

None of the time it will not happen bro. Many of the people expecting due to upcoming bump on the ethereum dude. Since we find the growth in ETH alone you may think like that. But in future or upcoming days you will find the value recovered in the bitcoin's overall price chart. Erc20 tokens shows promising growth for ethereum still bitcoin will be ahead of all the Cryptos at any time.

Such a situation once was when the ethereum almost overtook bitcoin, but this did not happen. So I think that bitcoin will always be the first

2018 is the year of the etherium. Too many projects on this block, so he can not help but grow.

In the future, there will be other blockchains that will curb the broadcast, for example Arcblock.

Nevertheless, in the portfolio you need to keep both the ether and bitcoin, and both will grow well in the future, changing periodically with another friend.

I think ETH will replace BTC as highest market cap this year, but both will continue to coexist.

That is saying a lot, but I do believe that the value of the ethereum is going to be very close to that of bitcoin.

The question is very topical at the moment. But these are completely different two things, with different functional purposes. I do not think that they should be compared and the more they should not compete - they have different tasks in the crypto world

Well, if talk about the market capitalisation ethereum can replace Bitcoin in the nearest future in terms of market capitalisation but in terms of technology i don't see it happen. I agree with you that the demand for ethereum is increasing day after day which could be attributed to high fees in Bitcoin transactions.

indeed for now the market movement is very focused on the ETH than BTC, but we can not doubt the specifications owned by BTC as a coin that has a very large value from the first until now.
Because if BTC is used from any existing project then the consideration is a very large fee, then that is used ETH, because the fee is not too large compared to BTC.

Well if you are asking me to choose between BTC and ETH then of course I would choose BTC because it is very obvious that everybody wants BTC rather than ETH which is just a 2nd placer to BTC, this is what I can tell from the question that you are asking because BTC has a very high market value compared to all of those crypto currency out there, ETH on the other hand was being replaced on the 2nd spot by ripple and now ETH was able to get back on the 2nd place again but I think it could never replaced the BTC which is on the 1st place.

As I said earlier, there is no sense in this comparison, because Bitcoin will be our main cumulative tool, and ether is a platform on which it is so wonderful to build various projects.
