I can't say your question is irrelevant because it takes courage to ask. It's most important to reason on how much effect they have on each other. There have been years of comparison which could not meet up. BTC have been the mother of all though ETH have been good so far but I can't compare both and 2018 has been a good year of example to know they are not comparable. BTC have been the mother of all. Both is good to invest in but I would invest 70% of BTC and 30% of ETH as to compare.

I think more about returning to the funds you have if you have enough funds to invest in bitcoin.
