Futourist Announces Integration of the Bancor Protocol™
February 18th, 2018 — Futourist, the first travel review platform that rewards users for their content with tokens, has today announced its integration of the Bancor Protocol™, to provide continuous liquidity for the platform.
Bancor is a decentralized liquidity network based in Zug, Switzerland. Bancor completed a historic Token Generation Event in June 2017. It aims to unlock the long tail of user-generated currencies by solving the liquidity challenge, allowing any token to be convertible to any other at continuously calculated prices, regardless of volume and outside of exchanges.
By integrating the Bancor Protocol, Futourist token holders will gain access to continuous liquidity regardless of trade volume or exchange listings, through the Bancor Network™. Bancor will allow for instant conversion of Futourist Tokens (FTR) directly through Bancor’s simple Web App. Conversion is possible between FTR, BNT, ETH and any token in the growing list of tokens integrated in the network.
The Bancor Protocol utilizes a “Connector” token method which networks tokens together through formulaically calculated prices, without needing to match buyers and sellers like in traditional exchanges. Futourist will activate a Token Relay™ with 1% of its circulating token supply within the first week following the distribution of the FTR tokens after a successful completion of the Futourist Token Sale.

I think the Futourist has a good business plan and I am a huge fan of all the features it intends to roll out, however it needs to work on the ways to generate token value. That alone is the sole weak point of this project, I feel.
Well that is not true at all. Not only we have built ways that create demand on business side, we created a lot of incentive on ordinary user/visitor side to own and operate with tokens. Please read the whitepaper before posting enormous red fonts of invalid arguments. How are you going to get the average user to buy your tokens? You can only generate so much demand on business side. How many businesses will really want to buy FTR tokens just to start a campaign to get reviews? Most of the time businesses would rather spend on direct marketing such as advertisements. |

On Futourist, you will be able to review anything travel related, anywhere and at any time. From restaurants to accomodation, parks, things to do, transport etc.
Reviewers will be rewarded for participation in time-limited reviewing contests. Having limited time period contests allows the platform to distribute tokens in a straight-forward way – after the end of the contest, to all content creators which participated, with a predefined token distribution curve. After the contest ends, all applicable reviews will be sorted by their upvotes and downvotes. The platform is going to use the Pareto principle on these reviews in order to distribute rewards as fairly as possible.
I like the sound of that: you will be able to review everything travel related. I hope flight tickets will be also integrated in the platform. Will they be?
