Up for sale here is an original 1945 Mexico "Dos Pesos" gold coin. I originally bought it for its numismatic value (which exceeds its gold value), since its an actual lightly circulated piece. Then I found out that (even there is no official word on it), Mexico is still producing these coins with the same dies (year 1945). So, if it means anything to you, this is an actual coin from 1945.

If it doesn't, the Mexican "Dos Pesos" Gold Coin is probably the most popular fractional gold coin. For this reason, it usually carries a decent premium on top of its gold content.

I am accepting offers on this coin. Please either post them below or PM me with them. Please no lowballs.

Thanks!

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Great coin!

Mexican coins are among the most beautiful coins produced. I like that they say "Tierra y libertad" (land and freedom) on the side. Basically what gold/silver and now bitcoin represent.

If anyone is in to 1911's you can machine the edges down and make them into the studs on your pistol grips. Looks divine! Cool  You will need to buy two though Wink

You answered your own question regarding the offers. Smiley The original 1945, right out of the war was a piece that few hands could hold.  War makes new paupers, dead people and millionaires for the profiteers.  That piece was made during a time that gold was forbidden in the USA, which made it one of those historic treasures that could well have crossed the palm of some of the captains of industry, or military-industrial, or some lucky person of unusual fortune.  Possibly for someone crossing a border that needed something shiny and small to ease the passage.

The possible stories that are conjured by the imagination of this exquisite coin will find someone that can see its worth, of that I have no doubt.  The birth year of the last of the war babies, and there are some of those that would see this as a unique gift for a very special someone in their life.  Someone with a Golden Anniversary, or other perfect occasion will cherish it.

This would have to be my final offer. You take care of escrow fee and shipping.
