There's tension everywhere.

Christian extremists have burned the homes of homosexuals.

Hell, even Buddhist extremists have lynched Muslims and committed hate crimes.

I say we ban all religion and turn everyone into atheists Cheesy. At least there will be no more religion-motivated crimes.

If that happens people will start preaching in private. And this all will start again. This is not the war of religion it never was. This is just a war between good and bad people. No religion tells anyone to kill innocent people.

Not if we turn society into like 1984 and brainwash everyone.

But then again, I guess it'll be the "bad" people controlling everyone else.

I guess utopia is never going to happen.

Yup Utopia is a dream that can never come true.

Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world? Where none suffered, where everyone would be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program. Entire crops were lost. Some believed we lacked the programming language to describe your perfect world. But I believe that, as a species, human beings define their reality through suffering and misery. The perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from.

i agree captchadd i did, the site itself isnt a bad site so i dont mind providing it with free press. what my problem is, RS cant stand other people's opinions on something which is logical, will ban them and then insult them to make it worse. I said its unlikely for microcash to be a success as realsolid doesnt exactly instill confidence into people about his projects. i was banned for that reason only, my bot account was used for the spam bot and i told everyone clearly only that account is for my bot. my normal account was in use only for legit purposes. RS didnt like what i said so banned me, then insulted me in IRC when i asked him about it then banned at the first site of his insults being released to public

You can't blame the religion.

Blame the Islamic extremists

spot on!

If you give the "moderate" muslims the choice between the Islamic extremists and atheist for example, you know they are going for the extremist right?

Better to be hardcore in what you believe, than to tolerate other moderates that are a little different in their believes.

The only reason extremists (of any religion, of any kind) exist is because in the end they have the support of the moderate co-believers.

After reading this comment. I am not able to stop myself from laughing. Cheesy Seriously you need to study some history about how these extremists came in to being. Consider it an advice. Don't engage yourself in discussion you don't know about. Smiley

I do know it's always trouble in the muslim world. On this random day, 50 people are dead in Egypt because of tensions. Coincidence?

Hitler was atheist, Mussolini was atheist, Staline was atheist, Mao was atheist, Kim Jong-il was atheist.
Do you want other examples?

If you remove religion,  people would use economy, ethnic group, geography,  or whatever.

Why is there such hostility between Chinese and Japanese? religion?

I said there'll be less religion-motivated crimes, not that all conflict will magically disappear.

And yes, religion played a part in the formation of anti-Chinese sentiment in Japan. The Chinese wanted to spread Confucianism while the Japanese wanted to retain their original religion, Shintoism. Not to turn this into a history lesson, but religion plays a part in pretty much all conflicts, past or present.

But yea, people naturally impose their worldview on others, so getting rid of religion won't turn Earth into a utopia.

I don't think it's a good example.
Japanese are not really religious as compared to other nationalities.

And anti-Japanese sentiment exists in China too.

I just think people need to feel a sense of belonging among their social and ethnic group (Maslow's hierarchy of needs).

I find it is best in general and even more on exchange chats, to try and leave religion, political views and topics of that nature at home when entering the world of the Crypto-Currency. They just don't seem to mix well.

That's just my observation.

Hitler was catholic.

Hitler couldn't be catholic...
Christianity is against eugenics...

Goebbels, Nazi Minister of Propaganda, noted:

"The Fuhrer is deeply religous, though completely anti-Christian. He views Christianity as a symptom of decay. Rightly so. It is a branch of the Jewish race... Both [Judaism and Christianity] have no point of contact to the animal element, and thus, in the end, they will be destroyed."

I don't think anything is certain about Hitler's religious views other than the fact that he despised Judaism.

Commies tried to ban religions it didn't work for them they just created a distributed and redundant network of small groups of hardcore believers (well, quite like bitcoin Smiley) . BTW communism was an other religion... just like atheism. So the commies actually committed the same crimes as religious extremist with the same religious heat Smiley. Only ideology and the "holy trinity" were different. Perhaps Nietzsche was right "He who fights too long against dragons becomes a dragon himself..."
