Hi. My nickname is (was) uzitgc, I created a new account just to post this.

I just got aware that my btctalk account was stolen by some Russian guy posting frequently.
this is the link

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=79607

The thief has changed the email access of course and I can no longer recover it using that way, but I can show the old emails sent to me when I was following/replying to posts.

I really need my account back, it's for a legal issue.

Anyone know what I can do?

this is a post from 2014, is it still valid? My guess is these admins get thousands of pms per day no?  besides, I don't have access to private keys I owned back when I created the account...

You are likely out of luck then. The thread is still valid, and was last edited on October 25, 2017.

I'm sure they get plenty of PMs but this is the only officially accepted way to recover an account on this forum, and having a signed message from a known address is the #1 form of proof. I've seen, in rare cases, other examples of proof be accepted, but generally speaking you have to have a signed message with an address you've used in the past and can be verified. If you do not have any of the keys back then, you are facing a very large uphill battle recovering and proving it is your account, and this battle is one that many have failed at.

I see. Thank you for your answers.

Can I even see what address I was using back then? Everything in my profile has been changed. Appreciate your help.

Wow I remember this address, unfortunately I don't have the keys to it anymore since I have ditched my old wallets and moved everything. Didn't think of using the web archive, that's amazing! I still hold the bitrated account written in my signature... It uses a private key just like a bitcoin address. Do you think I could use that? Again thank you so much.
