There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

If I understood your concern correctly, you want to send an ETH based token to coinexchange.io's ETH address. Eth based tokens have their own wallets in exchanges, therefore, Eth address in coinexchange.io will only receive Eth (not other token nor coin). As far as I know exchanges have a note on every deposit page like this:
Quote
IMPORTANT: DO NOT SEND TOKENS TO THIS ADDRESS! Send only ETH to this deposit address.
Sending tokens or any other currency to this address will result in the permanent loss of your deposit.

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.

What ERC-20 token do you want to send to coinexchange.io? and what wallet you are using to send those ERC-20 (Ethereum based token). Please be reminded that sending ETH and sending ERC-20 based tokens are completely different eth wallet address when using an exchange. Read the warning posted on above post.
