Issues isolate to South Korea and china at this time, these being major cryptocurrency players have a big impact in the entire network, see how the prices dropped... The short term future of bitcoin is in hands of the south korean government at this stage. Like everyone else said this is about regulation and these guys are closing major exchanges as a mean to 'regulate' only causing the prices to drop. This is not good for the currency nor for us at all but let's see what happens...

Governments of many countries are practically declaring war on cryptocurrencies.
Why is that?

Because the government doesn't want anything that they can't get their hands on it. Crypto is decentralized, they would have a hard time to control it. The only way to it is through tighter regulations. But some of them wants a full ban.

This is what is happening. It is believed that some countries are concerned about the rapid development of bitcoin. It's hard for the government to levy a tax on the bitcoin, if people do not trade. In addition, the government is also concerned that bitcoin will weaken the legal tender voice. In the past year, we can all feel in the speeches of many national governments.

This war is already happening but it became evident last year because crypto booms and I'm sure that this year, we will see government either accepts or rejects it. This will be a long war for crypto, but I think that we can win this war at the end. Government will see that crypto is not as disruptive as they want to picture it.

This is quite normal for them to act such manner. For cryptos are becoming now a big cause of the taxes decreasing which make lessen the amount that they can steal from people.

There are so many news about war in cryptocurrencies, like the news in china, france and south korea about cryptos. Maybe the governments in every country  like to control all over cryptocurrencies. Just because they cant control crypto so they declare war on it.

Hope we can recover soon, so that many investors that are not here in forum will not cashed out or pull out their investments, I know those people here in forum most of us are not doing panic anymore as we believe that it is just a normal and it is repetitively but still we are not withdrawing our investment but for those who are not here let us encourage them not to pull out their investment.

Governments of many countries are practically declaring war on cryptocurrencies.
Why is that?

Governments don’t understand Bitcoin and want to control it. It is true that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be disruptive to banking as we know it. This makes them want to hold Bitcoin back. Governments also want to make sure they get their taxes from us as well.
its like in my country. they dont know about bitcoin, send notif to all people that use bitcoin to not make transaction with bitcoin, but they want to all bitcoiners pay tax. funny!
bitcoin too dangerous from government. it can create much money, maybe they wont economic's ordinary people increase

Governments of many countries are practically declaring war on cryptocurrencies.
Why is that?
The Governments do not understand what this technology is all about. That is the reason for this war. Bitcoin to me just facilitate transfers and nothing else. It is not a physical product so it baffles me why this war. Every holder of cryptocurrency will go to the market to buy and they wouldn't buy with bitcoin but with fiat

Governments of many countries are practically declaring war on cryptocurrencies.
Why is that?

I give some of the governments the credit that they really want to save their citizens from losing their life savings.
Many people make investments even if they have no idea of what they are dealing with.
Those people get in and out of the investment at exactly the wrong times. And if those people go bankrupt, it's the rest of the society who has to take care of them.

Of course, not every government has those respectable motives, but some of them really do.

The altcoin always compete with each other in the crypto market to receive the attention and investment from the market. This determines the success and failure of a project, a coin. The competition will have a positive effect when it makes the coin continuous improvement techniques and practical applications, altcoin appear better than before if you want to survive and not forget.

Governments of many countries are practically declaring war on cryptocurrencies.
Why is that?
Because bankers see in the cryptocurrency a threat to their business. And since big money controls the government, then bans began.

I won't say its a war, Governments are just frightened and now they want it to be under there policy and kind of want a control over the market.
Also many government are banning exchange only to control illegal money flow. Its not a war against cryptocurrencies or bloackchain technology but its against the bad or negative aspect related to them.

actually, let's make the government of each country at the end of the line, the war is not from them it is funded by elites that control the government and some banks to fight cryptocurrencies as they are all against on people having money easily and getting better in life with bitcoin and other tokens. we all know that!

Governments of many countries are practically declaring war on cryptocurrencies.
Why is that?
I like with symbolic word conflict, where this crypto face conflicting the central bank of every country, the consequences are banning trend starting everywhere. After bitcoin had a good time last year and became mainstream, there is hope it can be accepted by the widely, but it turned out to be the opposite. Right now we don't have many option else just to hodl, forget for a moment about the prices and market fluctuation, let's unite to make crypto better by spreading good news instead of fud.

I also read quite a bit into the symbolic emergence of Bitcoin (or shall we say cryptocurrency itself, if we look at the predecessors of Bitcoin). Guys like Amir Taaki who really feel that Bitcoin needs to return to, or at least strengthen its political ideologies would definitely see Bitcoin use and spread as an indirect declaration of war against the state, against the financial and banking system.

And they resisted, and are resisting. I think it's a bit of dramatisation to say governments are declaring war on crypto but if you think about it... they're merely responding to crypto's strike against them.

Because governments do not yet know how to tax crypto money. In addition, crypto money allows domestic capital to be easily extracted abroad. In addition, governments have a systematic approach to capitalism. Crypto money is a big blow to this system. When we combine all these factors, the governments can not be more natural than the crypto money war.

The quoted part of your message is something that can only remain a myth and not a prayer because it will never get answered. Several things will or might happen to bitcoin in the path to development and acceptance but this your prayer is not going to be one of them. Transactions will get faster, price will go up and down, fees will go lower, mining will be disrupted and a lot of that but government removing its eyes from bitcoin is never going to happen.

The war of bitcoin had begun long before a lot of us even know about bitcoin but this time, they are unleashing every weapon in their arsenal which is dealing the blow but our hope is that, its not going to last long because bitcoin will always recover and that is largely due to our very own resolution to making this happen.

Many governments are wary of crypto-currencies and botting in particular. This is a new economic phenomenon, as if controlled. Moreover, it is unclear how the authorities benefit from this asset. Here, many officials do not want to deal with digital money and simply prohibit them.

Bitcoin is particularly vulnerable to crime transactions. Bitcoin transactions are not through the bank and can be done and arranged alone. That's what makes bitcoin particularly vulnerable to criminal transactions, such as buying illegal weapons, marijuana, terrorist financing, and money laundering.

War on crypto currency, what is the phrase is not excessive? Each country has a different view of crypto currency, some are not supportive and some even forbid it. they assume that the crypto currency will disrupt the economic stability of a country, because of the fluctuation of crypto currencies that are difficult to control by the state.
