Governments of many countries are practically declaring war on cryptocurrencies.
Why is that?

War on cryyptocurrency is just the same as war on drugs, they will never kill cryptocurrency because people will be still using it even in the other countries, it was not illegal because it helps people to earn more income monthly.
I disagree it is not the same, the war on drugs from a point of view makes sense, since drugs if abused can cause a lot of damage to a person and to the whole country as well if a significant amount of the population abuses them, cryptocurrencies are not addictive or bad for you, this is more similar to the war against file sharing waged by the entertainment industry.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

If by war you mean that they are opposing crypto, that is obvious. Crypto makes them and banks weaker and this is something they do not want to happen.

Actually buddy, it's a common sense to think that way. On my own understanding, it is something that their government didn't legalized bitcoin or any crypto currency that their people will use it. As we all know here in community we try to make things legal even on our particular place is not. As I live in asian country, our government legalized crypto currency which was supported by our government and our banks. Also, it will depends on each country's perception of crypto currency which it will be affected their economy or not.

Governments of many countries are practically declaring war on cryptocurrencies.
Why is that?

I think there are several reasons to respond to it. may be because the Government does not understand Bitcoin which can also be used by someone who wants to earn income and maybe because the government wants to control bitcoin. may also be because all government-related instasi, such as banking feel disturbed by the existence of cryptocurrency. indeed I think Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency will disrupt banking as we know it. This makes them want to hold and fight Bitcoin. The government also wants to make sure they get tax from every activity or transaction of cryptocurrency users. but they find it hard to get it.

Taxing is theft and decentralized space will not be able to get traced by governments. In centralized systems there is audit groups which consistently checks the balance sheet of companies. Governments will not be able to locate and trace transactions because of its nature.

because the government is afraid if investors turn to crypto and withdraw all the money that has been invested solely for investment in crypto. the government is also afraid that if the residents are more confident of saving their money in the blockchain system using digital wallets so that the local bank will lose most of its customers.

Haters gonna hate right! They are scared of the power and potential crypto brings. Also they are worried about possible undermining of the central banks and business practices. Instead governements should be looking at the potential of crypto and embracing it before the youth grow up. The citizens of the future will expect crypto to be a part of everyday life I bellieve.

Governments of many countries are practically declaring war on cryptocurrencies.
Why is that?

In my own opinion, governments war on cryptocurrency is just the same as war on drugs, government will not be able to stop people who are using cryptocurrency because people will still be investing on bitcoins since it was very profitable.

Is there really  a war? I haven't heard any in our country. What government are you referring to and what cryptocurrency? I wonder how advance your mind is to declare that there is a war in cryptocurrency. How ridiculous you are to foretell this to everyone here?
There are lots of things that each government have to prioritize other than the cryptocurrency. They couldn't even make a way to legalize this how much more to make war with this? And who are they going to shoot?
You are taking this in a literal way, what the op means is that there are attempts from governments to go against cryptocurrencies and in my opinion it is very obvious this is the case, we only have to take a look to see many countries creating regulations to try to take control of cryptocurrencies and when they realize that is not going to be enough they are going to ban it but that will not work either.

The elite 0.1% have been ruling the world by forcing all of us to play in a game they’ve rigged to their own advantage.

Cryptocurrency is the biggest and potentially fastest redistribution of wealth the world has ever seen. The ruling class will not give up without a fight. People will be jailed, defamed, and some will literally lose their life in this war. We are talking about a significant percentage of the world’s economy here. People have been murdered for much less.

If you sell, they win. If you HODL, there is nothing they can do. They have the wealth but we have the numbers. If we choose to place our belief and a bunch of magical internet coins they don’t own, then we are robbing them of their wealth and their power over us.

It is because cryptocurrencies affects the economy. Millions of money if not maybe billions are are spent daily. And because of these the government has to look what happens to their investors. Should they get to give their money on scams then that is a sure loss to the government. This could be the reason why one day they might just be regulating it.

Many countries have in war with crypto because they do not allow other currencies to trade in the countries and people will not give interest in their own currency and due to the virtual nature people would love to use and trade these currencies so i think there are some bitcoin friendly countries  doing well for bitcoin and other crypto.

Since there are so many altcoin in the market today, they compete a lot in all aspects, so I do not think it's a good idea to focus on investing or holding. Project to choose the best ICO

Government of any country would want to be in control of everything happening in their respective countries. They would never support any development that is out of their control power. You know already crypto currency is a decentralized in nature and no government in the world can regulate it.

Governments of many countries are practically declaring war on cryptocurrencies.
Why is that?
Each country has different approaches to crypto-currencies and this is not surprising. Some countries accept bitcoins and other crypto-currencies as a means of payment, while other countries lock it or they are neutral to it.
