Bitcoin will not die now, there comes a time when it will happen.
When Bitcoin dies, you do not need to panic because there is still Ethereum that will be the number one coin.

A lot of newbies who came in for the fast money and wall street are shorting and exiting the markets right now. Only those who really care about the technology and some hardcore long term people like me are staying in. Bitcoin was oversold and now it is retargeting downwards. It tested 10k USD resistance yesterday but I don't know   for how long the market will be down. Also Chinese New year is not helping us at the moment. If Bitcoin dies, I hope at least something else will take it's place.

lol, what does Chinese New Year have to do with the bloody market today?  and Chinese New Year is a month away, so it's not even close.  Bitcoin won't die and nothing can replace it.  Bitcoin is what got everyone involved with cryptocurrencies, not Ethereum, not Litecoin, etc.

Disagree. Currently bitcoin has nearly no use besides being an exchange for alts. Alts such as Ethereum, Monero and others have some use. I can see them surviving if btc dies.

and you chose the worst two coins for your examples. if you chose anything else it would have been harder to argue, but when it comes to these two it is easy because they both have proven scaling issues worse than bitcoin.

in other words if 10% of bitcoin users start using any of these coins the backlog that will be created on them will the exact same scenario that is currently going on with bitcoin: high fees and slow confirmations.

In my opinion BTC will never die and if at all that happens that would be the beginning of the end. It's is true that other altcoins have true life usage but then without BTC they won't be able to hold on to their positions. The whole Cryto came into existence because of BTC and then people started developing various other altcoins.

One fact that is glaring in our face even if some people will want to argue against it your submission which I will completely agree with. Its until you have bitcoin that majority of other coins becomes buyable which then means when bitcoin is no longer available, one cannot get the coin again and down everything goes. The market is still largely revolving around bitcoin as at the moment maybe in the future it might change but not what we are currently facing.

I don't think the same with you. if the bitcoin dies, there will always be a substitute, however, nowadays a lot of altcoin is pretty good and has a technology that is almost similar to bitcoin, some even more modern.

I think yes, Bitcoin is like an oil, if oil drops then almost everything are cheaper otherwise then everything is expensive.
If Bitcoin dies it means Altcoins aren't secure anymore and almost all cryptocurrency will have no value at all.

Although it's impossible for Bitcoin to die like there's a sudden attacks that could compromise large volume of Bitcoin servers at the same time then almost all of cryptocurrencies are vulnerable also and could affect global cryptocurrency crisis.

For me it's not gonna happen but hypothetically if bitcoin dies, I think all other crypto will also die. People may doubt to trust other altcoins because they may think that what has happened to bitcoin may also happen to altcoin so they will not try to invest on it.

ETH isn’t a bad example. I’m not saying it won’t be replaced by a better Alt like say ADA that does not have the scaling issue, should be faster etc etc.  Smart Contracts are in fact the perfect example of how Alts can be completely different from BTC and have lasting power regardless of BTC.

bitcoin die it will be difficult because bitcoin is currently one of the good coins and has the strongest position in cryptocurrency. so I suppose if a bitcoin had died there would have been a lot of coins that would benefit from ETH and other altcoin coins.

There are altcoins that are independent. They do not vary from the rise or fall of the Bitcoin's Market Exchange. But as of now there's no way that bitcoin will die since it's the father of all cryptocurrencies and it will stay as it should be.

Not necessarily, no one knows what will happen when bitcoin is lost, too many possibilities will happen mate.
Could be, eth, bch, btg or else replace bitcoin place. Or just the opposite of the cryptocurrency world lost along with the loss of bitcoin.
But I feel the crypto world will never disappear, maybe only a few people will use bitcoin later on. cryptocurrency is a technology that is being developed by many institutions, so it's unlikely that the whole thing will disappear or be worthless.

    For me if bitcoin die,there will be other coin to replace but it is impossible to happen as of now. Every coins are different in value,market,number of demand and supply. Thats why if one of them die, others will survive for sure even bitcoin.
