Wasn't the fork threat more about Bitmains ethical practices in the mining community more than just competition for the other device?

I read as they are taking a "wait and see" approach before implementing any soft fork

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Before anyone else jumps on this, remember that there's already another Siacoin ASIC being shipped from https://obelisk.tech/  They're already doing batch 2 so the hashrate might already skyrocket before these Bitmain ones even ship out.

A3 is being shipped out, received a shipping notification through FedEx Delivery manager for delivery on Monday  Grin  Obelisk batches are scheduled to be shipped in June and August.

Smiley thats great.. im checking my email frequently now because of you! I managed to pick up a small batch of these also..

My Bitmain account still shows unshipped. Shipping notification received is through FedEx (if you have an account, it let's you know of incoming packages).

Bitmain lets you use Fedex?  Whenever I have selected it I get a popup that says "Please Input Import No"  I always assumed that as an error.

I have used FedEx for Bitmain orders since S3 becuase they were and are the cheapest of three. If you enter your EIN or SSN, pop-ups stop  Wink

what is the EIN or SSN? can you explain this short

EIN is a tax ID for US companies. SSN is a tax ID for US individuals. You should only enter the EIN or the SSN, but not both.

Exactly. They will not make a move unless they start to see empty blocks being mined or a 51% attack. Bitmain is unlikely to do either of these things because they have the common sense not to. They know that damaging the (currently) small mining community for Siacoin would only hurt Sia, and thus hurt their sales of Sia mining ASICs.

Bitmain ethical practices?
In my opinion they do a normal business practice ?

Its certainly debatable amongst the community particularly with pre order wait times and after sales support at the least

Don't confuse the hard fork of block 139000 with the soft fork to fight bitmain. The hard block will happen and make block time average be 10 mins instead of 30. Minted coins will multiply by 3, happy miners. The other one I won't go into.

Hmmm seems like they are trying to protect obelisk(sia devs) customers.. is this not concerning?
Mention more about miners and profitability? Shilling obelisk and bias towards bitmain?

It'll probably be earning about the same next year too. Since we won't get ours until a week after big Chinese farms and all...

I'm hedging bets and am dual mining Sia until the difficulty goes up.

the difficulty will rise so hard after 1-2 batches that the A3 will not be profitable.. like the D3

1 day after the D3 release everybody posted calculators with earnings of 8000usd per month.. look where are we since weeks

Considering the turnaround on the A3s, I'd assume they're all packaging and labeling shipments all week or so.

Also I sent a question and they got back to me within a day. They didn't, you know, answer it or anything, but they tried.

How long does it take for you to receive it?

I hope I received it earlier  Grin

Usually 2 days but because of the weekend delivery is in 3 days.

EIN is the employer identification number (if you have a registered business or LLC) and SSN is social security number. I am guessing this is a way for customs to track how many rigs one is getting and assessing fees, and that is very low for US customers usually just have to pay brokerage fee.

Where do you enter it at?  In that special instructions box or is there a place in your profile?  I don't think I saw a field for it.

On order page next to your address where you select carrier, click edit and it will pop up a new window where you can add EIN or SSN. It can be done now by adding a PSU to cart without completing the order, so you can be ready for future orders.
