Could you please explain how a government "cracks down" on a decentralized currency? Do they ban it? Do they tax it? All of these "crack downs" are very easy to avoid. You really just continue what you're already doing. If you don't like what you're government is doing, don't vote for them. If you can't vote, get the hell out of that country now!

Yeah, there's a possibility for it that bitcoin can crash more  and drop less than $5000, it is also depend on a market and big investors. But for sure after the big drop it can still recover and bitcoin will still hit another new record of ATH's this year. I will still hold my bitcoin even if it will drop.

this will happen if there is any panic selling from the people and maybe there will be chaos that is happening on many exchanges so it will make bitcoin price drop less than $5000. but I still believe that the price will go to go up again after the dropped price and I am sure that the price will make a new high price. but I don't think in this year, the bitcoin price will down until $5000 because too many people are just expecting the price will increase again.

Bitcoin is now slowly stabilizing at $11k that speculation to drop to $5k is now far to happen. The issues about the South Korea banning bitcoin has now uplift with some conditions to consider like taxes on the exchanges.
I'm hoping that a good run for bitcoin this year for another all time high.

It is quite possible, if something catastrophic happens. By catastrophe, I mean a possible ban on crypto-currency by the governments of the United States and the European Union. It will liquidate more than 50% of the crypto-market. We had a very bad beginning in 2018, due to bad news from South Korea and India. Let's just hope that there won't be anymore this year.

In the short amount of time that I have been investing in Bitcoin, one thing that is truly prevalent is that Bitcoin can break boundaries which goes to show that nothing is impossible with this cryptocurrency. However, due to the recent issues with the government and other complications such as transaction fees, altcoins gaining reputation, and the density of its volatility, the demand for it has been less compared to what it reached before that affected its growth over time. Don't get me wrong, Bitcoin is still popular and very flexible but with the current issues that makes it not promote efficiency, it's growth is greatly affected for some are pulling out their interest on it. There is a possibility that Bitcoin can drop to $5,000 and this can be saddening but knowing how Bitcoin is, it will recover and reach a greater peak. Bitcoin always comes through.

yep - with the huge rise across crypto last year, alts are starting to stand on their own.   Bitcoin might not go to $100k but other alts can see 10x gains still and the value of using crypto should make life 10x better even if the price doesn't go up crazy anymore

Bitcoin is still solid, the problem with governments is that while they are powerful using that power can be difficult, if governments ban bitcoin that will make the price to go down, but those that are hardcore bitcoin enthusiasts are going to become even more hardcore so it is going to be impossible to eliminate bitcoin and they will be left with no recourse to fight bitcoin anymore.

Yup the speculation is possible, as the way Bitcoin movement is behaving, its pretty possible to see the mark. And you are right it will spark more fear and generally more drop. Either something is wrong or massive dumping game is still on, and pumping will hit only if the big investor thinks to.

Governments have the temporary power to decrease Bitcoin's strength. They can do this by introducing flash rules on their countries, rules like banning exchange's accounts at banks (in parcery with banks), putting regulations on Crypto enthusiasts, banning Bitcoin. When this happen the demand decreases fast and temporarily, especially if it's a big country, responsible for a decent traffic in Crypto world.

It could lead BTC to $5000, but it's unlikely at this moment. BTC has too much strength near $11.000-$10.000, it's the currently support.
The little fishes enthusiasts can do nothing about it, they don't have decision power. If they are able to find a gap on the system it's already too much.

Somewhere around mid January I thought there was a possibility but the price could drop as low as $5,000 but i noticed people are on standby to buy some btc as they have realized how much potential it has...

There are prediction last year that it will go higher than $20k and prediction that it will go lower in 4digit. If ever history repeat itself we're going to wait again few years to be able to see a high price again, hope it won't happen. That would cause a lot to a seller only like me though if you think $5k is still decent amount, but it was considering low because of the price we got last year.

Actually for now, I don't want to see bitcoin price drops to $5,000 although we don't know what will happen later. the drop of the price in yesterday makes people become panic and I cannot imagine what will happen if the price drops to $5,000 maybe there will be a massive selling order from the people because they are really shock and panic. Governments wont ban what they can tax, I tend to agree with that.    Problem is crypto in general is becoming more restricted by regulations which means its as much hassle or even more for a business then just using normal FIAT.

That is kind of a drag of prospects for crypto in general.   Could they ban, I dont believe its that feasible in any democratic country like you say because its just a token that is secure.   Thought crime is not yet with us and me transferring tokens is not really a negative per say.    It could be a negative in theory when used for crime but then so could anything, big time criminals sometimes keep fine art as a store of value.   Will fine art be banned or restricted not likely.

Bitcoin has a recent uptrend still in place and I think 13,000 overhead is more important to watch then any bigger objective.

11,000 dollars is the price of the bitcoin today,  if you compared the price of the bitcoin last few weeks today it will increase 10percent.  Because the price last few weeks is 10,000 dollars.
