Is neo coin a failed coin?

No, Necoin will be ready very soon. Neocoiin is 100% finished now, we are just looking for the best way to distribute money fairly without concentration.

It worries some people because Neocoin will set a new standard for cryptos and all old coins will be superseded.

My negative trust rating is reflective of a personal vendetta by someone on default trust.

Still too new a coin to know for sure, depends on how active the developers will be.

The new client seems promising.  I think if it gains any traction its gimmick of a built in easy to use messaging system might get it a somewhat decent price.
