Your post shows a lack of understanding of the fundamental science behind cryptocurrencies. Crypto has nothing to do with destroying the environment. And by "destroying the planet", I'm guessing you mean all the energy that goes into mining Bitcoin and other proof of work based cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin and several other cryptos use proof of work, which requires a huge amount of power. But, that is not a property of cryptocurrencies in general, that was one implementation to make the network more secure. In the future, cryptocurrencies will adapt to be more energy efficient, and that is already happening. Thus, your post is not considering advances in technology.

I guess this was discussed before , personally I don't care about that cause there are many other harmful things
anyway proof of stake doesn't need these machines , so even if you care that much about the environment you can't say that all crypto are bad
still you can mine with clean power if you have access to it

Yes cryptos like bitcoin will collapse because they are driven by speculation and waste  lot of energy. There is no future for anything which is not environmentally friendly. So China is doing good thing banning it as it is another volatile bubble and unpractical.

Yes cryptocurrency mining consumes power but if you do not know there are advances in the Tchaikovsky behind cryptocurrency mining that will enable it to mine in a more exodriendly way. You sounded more philosophical if you ask me because taking what you type here literally would mean someone who is not communicating anything but beyond that I guess you talking about environment impact of crypto but that should not be a concern at all. Crypto does not use a special form of energy. If today, we no longer on plants or dams to power our houses, and we using something else so also would mining use such energy nothing more or less than that. So other thing can kill crypto but not based on your theory.

Let me tell you the most basic information, why do people like cryptocurrency. Look at the price of Bitcoin a few years ago, you'll know that the price of Bitcoin at that time is still hundreds of dollars. Now, look at the current Bitcoin price, you'll know that Bitcoin's price has become thousands of dollars even tens of thousands of dollars. With so many price increases going on in Bitcoin, of course many people will be interested in buying, collecting, investing and storing Bitcoin. Given that, do you want everyone to ignore crypto? Cryptocurrency is the latest solution and innovation for the world economy. So it can not be eliminated. Can only be developed only.

Mining will allow Bitcoin to be worth more, there is more coins that have not been sold before. That will cause the price to appreciate.

This dude may not have taken his meds, but hey--all of this crap is worth considering, right?  Drives me nuts when the ignorant bulls try to destroy any skepticism about crypto.  But that happens in every runaway bull market/bubble.

Having said all that, I don't think bitcoin is going to affect anything except the economics of the world, and even that will depend on solving its many problems (confirmation times and fees among them).  We're already headed toward a cashless world, and things like crypto were inevitable.  They might take their toll on our power grids but I highly doubt that's going to be significant.  We'll see in 20 years.  We might be living on Pluto by then anyway.

Greenpeace will finance their crusade with BTC because they are that dumb. I remember when they were protesting against oil rigs and went cruising around them in an oil fueled ship. They were basically burning fuel to protest against that same fuel.

Op's curiosity, pessimism and fears should be allayed. The effect on power isn't going to bring cryptos down. We are in a developed world and  technology is being modified to suit the current  challenges of the world.

Ozone depletion used to be a public and the world's fear few years back but it has been taken care of with so many solutions like avoidance of pulling trees down, avoidance of burning of bush, planting of trees also called green revolution . The energy consume in cryptos are however not a challenge that can't be met.
