Etherium is the most competitive alt -coin, next to btc. Usually ICO's had smart contract with etherium and since it is just sprouting this is very ideal type of alt-coins that surely gives us a brighter future in the upcoming days.Smiley

Simple! Ethereum is the next big thing. Ethereum's smart contracts function like that of bitcoin's blockchain but without the restrictive nature of the bitcoin currency. On top of managing agreements between users, Ethereum's smart contracts can function as multi-signature accounts that allow money to be spent when a required percentage of people agree, or they can be used to store information about an application.

Right now it is enjoying the support of many projects, never absent in major exchanges and has a high market cap!

It has a big growth potential. ICOs are based on the ETH blockchain. Its fast and offers big rewards to the mining community. If they could lower their transaction fees it would be even better.

No doubt, ethereum is one of the leading coins in the market which seconded Bitcoin. Also ethereum, I think has smaller transaction charges other than BTC.

Ethereum has lower transaction fee than bitcoin. erc20 coin uses small amount of ether to generate transaction.. many ICO use ether as mode of payment..

Because of the support of smart contracts and stability. That's why many ICOs prefer the use of Ethereum.

If Ethereum's supply is infinite, why does it enjoy a $112 billion+ market cap?

You really want to mention market caps in this environment...look at all the alt coins.

Well, Ethereum is a very good coin, making it easy to create tokens, and is also supporting smart contracts, it's much better than bitcoin. The number of tokens on it should give you a pretty good idea why.

I agree. +1

There is a solid team and projects behind it. There are also plenty of miners and people dealing with trade. It provided smooth and fast processing until a few months ago. Taxes are also low. That's why there are still plenty of followers ethereum.

It is the foundation of altcoin booming IMO, almost half of the altcoin start-up chooses ethereum as a means of raising funds, provided that in that time, Ethereum have the capacity to cater several TX per second compare to BTC which is a bit costly and slower.
Thus, EThereum is here to stay, smart contract will just be polished in time as the mass adoption takes place but Etehreum is here to stay.

Because it is stable and has much more value compared to other altcoins. Being on the top 2 altcoins in the coinmarketcap helps a lot also in inceasing its trust rating and credibility thus increasing the number of investors. I also find ethereum to be widely accepted through different websites and exchange platform as a mode of payment since it has much lower price compared to bitcoin and not that low compared to other altcoins.

Ethereum is the most competitive though there's still a chance that some weird coin could take Ethereum's place.

Like it or not it has become the reserve currency for icos and is slowly displacing btc on exchanges as a trading pair. Moreover, it has the history and brand recognition, a star developer and its platform is used for lts of apps. It’s not perfect, it has bugs. I am actually not a big fan and think there are many up and coming alternatives but we’re obviously not there yet.

Yes i agree that etherium is ico place and etherium become more popular this time.
But i dont agree when you said etherium is displacing bitcoin in exchanger as trading pair. Bitcoin is still famous pair and etherium is the second one.

I think Ethereum is one of the most influential currency in the crypto world. some experts said that Ethereum will be the number one contender for Bitcoin in the future. Day by day the price value is increasing and Ethereum price already got 1K USD. besides Bitcoin, ETH also has made an important platform for trading and investment. Hopefully, ETH will be as same as Bitcoin in the future.
