I believe that altcoins are very dependent on bitcoin. Look at the bitcoin trading chart. It has now become cheaper and altcoins have become cheaper.

Bitcoins is always affecting altcoins because the value of ico's coin is scaled through ethereum. The good thing about markets down time is, we can always invest at a cheaper value and eventually we can earn more profit since the value will go back to normal after a few months.

this phenomena is known as Dead Cat Bounce. which when altcoins that never had any usage and no value, gained some fake value because of the pumps they received (which is a form of manipulating the market). and because of that they were in bubbles.

these bubbles started bursting and when they burst, price comes down in multiple steps like this.

it may also be the fact that bitcoin started rising up again and that can technically draw a lot of money out of altcoin market.

Right. And the shitcoins also take the good altcoins with them, although any inverstor should know what the actual product of the coin is and where its value lies. Bubbles fit to burst will burst, but good coins will stay on.

Probably because the Bitcoin's price is declining or bitcoin is in bull, eitherway most of the alts bleeds when two if these conditions has happened because the only time altcoins grows is when bitcoin goes sideways or stabilized.Morelikely it wont happen because from the past few weeks the total market cap of cryptocurrencies are still decreasing and bitcoin wont recover anytime soon  so expect more dips in the future.
