So can we do anything about the title? I don't like it displayed with that 'scam' tag.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Can we just remove all the scam FUD from the OP while we're at it? It doesn't make any sense and they have been debunked

I think the dev should start a new thred and explain the issues.

Is the OP somehow related to the project and the dev? How come he took over the ANN thread here? I think he has no right to control it.

Yeah I PM'ed one of the devs in their Discord server. He/she said it's already been discussed and they contacted the forum's support team. So I guess we just wait now.

This coin started on reddit, so there was no offical ANN thread here. So he created this...

Oh, now we all know who is a scammer.

Well, I think this is not legit. I wonder why bitcointalk administration hasn't been contacted before there are 18 pages of FUD. And now it has grown into a nice heading.

How can I report you to the bitcointalk staff, this is a joke. You have no idea what you're talking about

To report him or the post, there are 2 ways.

1). go to the first post and on the corner click "Report to Moderator"
2). contact the moderator directly. There are couple mod listed here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1435600.0). I think you can either report the person or the thread with this method.

I went with method 1 already.

To answer your question, it started as an [ANN] post without all this accusation. He cultivated this post to 18 pages. The he pulled a bait-and-switch and abruptly changed everything on the first page.

He is a triggerhappy wannabe scambuster, hunting for merits, probably, because we have seen no evidence this far.

There's all the evidence one'd need to figure out that the devs created a coin with a non-ASIC resistant algo and still went on to advertise it as such. I had to warn people about such a decelptive coin.

Nothing has been debunked. You can't debunk anything and hence why you're in denial.

As I said it's maybe a shitcoin, but not a scam. Founders had no intention to scam anyone, at least as we can see this far. The only thing generates deception is you.
First of all. There is a method (thread for scam accusations) to report and investigate scams. Your thread is far from investigation. You posted the ANN thread to get some ez merits, then went into full hater for the same reason. You are just a hypocrite.

The founders keep denying the fact that the coin isn't ASIC resistant. This to my eyes is suspicious to say the least. If it was a mistake, they should admit it and prompt the community to a fork so a truly ASIC resistant algo. What the developers are doing now is trying to continue being deceptive.

If you go on the Discord channel they have addressed the concerns you have brought up.

But seriously... you are getting all fired up about a meme coin? This coin was only created for giggles but it has lead to tens of thousands of people into their first crypto-currency experience. It has been a great learning opportunity for many and they had some fun while at it.

We're on the frontpage of /r/garlicoin. How cool.
https://www.reddit.com/r/garlicoin/comments/7vgoxu/this_probably_isnt_helping_us/

Hey /r/garlicoin Redditors, I expect you to flood this thread with new bitcointalk accounts. Please do, registration button on the top left.
In the meantime, why not tell Garlicoin's developer dictator to actually devote some time in picking a non-broken, ASIC resistant algorithm and incentivize a hardfork? Would you risk getting banned on the Subreddit by telling the truth about this coin's fate if it isn't forked? Hint: It'll die if it won't be forked.
