Finally Bitcoin is becoming normal

We have people on the one side saying this is because the price has gone down and less people are using Bitcoin at the moment and on the other side we have people saying that SegWit adoption has increased and it is showing a reduction in transactions because of that.

There are even some people using the Lightning Network, but that impact should have no impact now, because it is still negligible. ^hmmmmm^

No matter what the reason is, we are seeing 2MB Blocks and a reduction in the MemPool, which is good. ^smile^

when price is dropping it means people are selling their coins, then the panic beings and more people sell their coins. a large part of these sellers will be making transactions to move their coins to exchanges to sell. there are also a larger number of people buying because it is a dip and a considerable number of them withdraw => more and more transactions on chain.
in other words people who are saying less usage because price dropped are either misinformed or are spreading FUD.

regarding LN, the impact is not negligible, it is non-existent because there are practically no place that is accepting bitcoin through LN. any place major with any significant effect... it is more like a testing phase.
there are currently 134 LN nodes though and the network has been growing with a very nice speed.

regarding blocks, we have had 20 blocks bigger than 1.5 MB, 5 of which have been >=2

Maybe your thread was too technical for others to spam with.  Anyway, the LN has a promise to make transactions way more faster and at a lower cost. I wonder how the miners and mining pools would react to this?

Fees became cheaper lately and transactions get confirmed in minutes, that can be explained by the reduce of transactions number which is not a good sign, a small transactions number means people are not using Bitcoin massively as they used to do.
When Bitcoin is not widely used it will have no value, and when it is more used fees will increase again!!

You have said right. Bitcoin transaction takes now less time and fees compared to past few months. This is good for transaction of bitcoin in few minutes.

Let's hope it stays this way for a while, at least it's a good thing that Coinbase has finally implemented batch transactions, that should help a little bit.
I would also suggest to anyone who can to use Segwit addresses and I hope all wallets will finally support it by default.

Also, don't just trust the fees your wallet adds to the transaction, it might be cheaper to check it manually.

I am still worried about this situation because whats getting confirmed is the old transaction and broadcasts that were sent earlier in time. Ah! I can't find it very normal situation and still struggling in many wallets with higher fees. I think the real thing would be when we have lower fees yet high speeds of transaction in terms of confirmation. The same thing as everyone here is wishing to happen, nothing new really.

Who knows, what we do now enjoy like playing rolling coaster when ride we will cheer when down we will be silent that is what we feel in crypto world. the fee will increase as the bitcoin price moves. I think the fee does not matter as long as the market exchange that we use is safe and has the potential of a good price to get a high price and it's worth it

Well it may have been because of lightning network or the value of btc dumping. Btc may not have been ready for the 20k rise last year at that pace, so transaction time and fees became out of control. It may not have been like that if it was a slow gradual rise over a period of a couple of months.

I think you should not be too glad or expect a lot from this happening since it really happens at times but in bitcoin nothing seems to be permanent and change is always at its side. Maybe this changes will be the pump the value of bitcoin and become steady.

Finally bitcoin becoming normal  but the rate of the raising value of bitcoin in the market is slow as compare before December it was. Although In the start of the 2018 bitcoin value show very unexpected value but it is good that it recover from the low point and now the value of the bitcoin is raising. The rate of the raising up is also slow but it will be recover and will be like before in a very short time.

Yes it is nowadays more stable and transactions with low fees , since Bitcoin price is dropping down in the few last weeks. So everything turns into normal statut and the blockchain traffic is not as saturated as before when the price was around $20k.

Unconfirmed transactions is down to 72K as of the moment, so its a significant drop from 200K-300K that's why bitcoin is fast. I guess it we could maintain it below 100K, we can say that transactions is somewhat normal. Maybe those who are spammers the network suddenly stop or there are less transactions as compare to previous months. But we can still improved it with LN + SW. Tested myself a few transactions with SW and it really very cheap.

Yes. We are all waiting for Lightning Network to be launched. Probably some finishing touches before they are going to roll it out. I read that its on the Alpha phase now. I speculate that in the next couple of months it will be ready for release.

I think they are in testnet they are trying to send transaction as fast as it can. If lightning network really implemented then i think miners will have a problem. because transactions varies from miners and if LN release then transaction may get faster and fee gets lower.
