The 4th Wall

Now, I'm from America, and I feel as if this idea to break the 4th wall is just FAR too progressive for Americans's, but Britain already does this shit to a certain extent.

So, there is already extras and the office. Where the 4th wall in just obliterated, eyes look directly into the camera, and it works.

But I want to do something different.
I want to create a world, where when the 4th wall is broken, it doesn't mean you can see just the crew and directors.

I want to create an alternative to what happens. Sure, make it where the scenes get filmed, and it cuts to the crew. But then we need to show a group of people WATCHING the TV as well, and eventually make it where the people IN the show and the people WATCHING the show are working together, without actually ever meeting, by using the 4th wall.

The 4th wall is the imaginary "wall" that exists in film making, the wall that the actors create by never looking at the camera.

I think that a pan of the audience should show people staring at their cell phones and iPads thus breaking a 5th. wall.

Here's how it works: At first the story is completely separate, one following the actors, one following the viewers. The actors have a crew and everything, but then eventually they discover that they can communicate with the group that is watching TV. The group watching TV is well freaked out, and so are the crew, who are trying to talk to the actors, who seem to be talking to themselves. So as the story progresses the actors have to learn how to communicate to the people watching, but without the crew seeing them do it (or the crew will start asking questions again). So basically the actors have a script to follow, and a director to please. But at the same time they are trying to get a message across to the public. Then the viewers go and get it done, or work towards it so they can do it when they get off work.

I'd have to watch network TV to really care.  But pretty alright of an idea

It would be a good premise for getting a dedicated audience, because they can be involved somehow in the creation of the show through the internet. And you can make YouTube videos where the "actors" speak to them.
