What should be done to eliminate corruption?

The punishment for corruption is still too soft.

As history shows, strictness of the punishment won't prevent the crime! You just waste taxpayer's money to keep corrupt officials in prison.

I believe it is people's mind that need to be changed. Corruption is, first of all, in people's heads. They are used to solve problems taking and giving bribes. Until we change our psychology, until we understand that we have to live honestly, corruption will prosper.

this is also my proposition about this topic. But to think of how to do it is not easy. You cannot easily those powerful official that are wicked for they will do everything to keep their power. Also, if you take away thr government completely, there will be no peace and regulations throughout the nation.

Corruption is like a gun sticked to the government. It is hard to get rid of. It is a problem long time ago and is still a problem now. I'd say we voters, as a prevention, should vote wisely. We must be smart about who we want to lead us.

Preventive strategies (prevention) is to prevent, and can be done by: First, make sure that you are not the perpetrators of corruption. This can be done by refusing any unofficial charges. (eg doing financial financial transactions by not using a receipt). Then, do campaign activities and da'wah to invite people against the actions that lead to corruption.

"Eliminate" is difficult, but not impossible. I think transparency is the key. Maybe blockchain could help. What if all our tax payment go directly somewhere, like escrow, totaled, then all projects, and things that need gov't funding can be seen by everyone, like after collections this month, this is the total, this are the things that needs fund, they go directly there.

Corruption is a state of moral values degradation in which the greater priority is being given to the bribe provider. Corruption could be eliminated by having strong check over the offices through an independent constitutional body or lok pal , to eliminate it, moreover the social awareness could be people and govt officials not to practice it.

Here in India, we have seen several such leaders who wanted to take strict action against the corrupt officials. But none of them succeeded in the end, because the lobby of the corrupt employees is too strong. Whenever a corrupt official is either suspended or dismissed, the others in the lobby will group together to protect him.

But how can we eliminate corrupt leaders to not? this will take a lot of time and still we will end up unsuccessful as we may leave a corrupt person.
We need to get all of them clean or not! from highest rank to the lowest one. We must not vote again people that are connected to corrupt people.
Political dynasty is one of the roots of corruption.
